There have been an increasing number of users exhibiting some or all of the following behaviors:
1) Making a number of brief, one liner or using just a couple of words, responses to posts in an effort to bring up their post counts. This is especially obvious when the topic in question is several months old and the posted response is "nice!".
2) Posts offering items for sale made in the wrong forum by members with fewer than the minimum number of required posts.
3) Members making posts in the for sale section for a friend.
4) Posts initiated by prostaff members promoting their sponsor products.
These are all clear violations of the TackleTour Forum Rules and no doubt a symptom of our continued slow economy. The TackleTour audience is uniquely keen on the tackle and therefore this forum is a very attractive community within which to promote one's wares.
In the past, we've issued warnings and given users the benefit of the doubt. No more. In the last two days we've come across one user in particular who violated items one through three with the clear intent of joining this forum so he could sell something. He has spoiled the party for everyone else. We will now, at our discretion, deactivate users without warning who are in violation of any of the TT Forum Rules, but especially if it's obvious to us you're just here to sell something.
If you notice a user running up their post count with a bunch of one liner responses, you are encouraged to contact one of the moderators to give us a heads up to this behavior.
