I'm very impressed with the 3 baits made by Jeff Klein. 7yrs back he gave me some lessons on building cranks over the phone. He is one of the best crank bait builders in the country and I consider myself lucky to call him a friend.

Like these ones? :D Jeff is an amazing crankbait maker and an even more amazing person. We chat at least once a week, and I go up there to fish High Rock with him once in a while. I gotta get up there and fish again, plus he is getting me a Calvin Johnson modified Killer B2! Can't wait to see that one.

He doesn't have a website, Those are all handmade by him personally. He don't carve many baits anymore, he owned a tackle store here in NC and it closed a couple months ago so he's been busy dealing with that and a 9 to 5 job... If you're interested in some of his baits, PM me your telephone number or email and I'll call him and tell him what you're looking for and give him your contact info. His Poe's 400 is bad too! But, be prepared to wait a while to get em...

Gotta love it! Stringjam, you got a baddass selection of cranks there! I love the Ed Chambers stuff! If you look at the top pic I posted, there is a Poe's 400 that I painted last week. I can't wait to throw it. Here's a rare bird for ya guys. Anyone know what it is?

Doc, the next time you talk to Jeff please tell him Marty Burns says hi. He is still the crank bait guru in my book. That is a very nice collection of baits and you are correct he does not turn them out at a high rate of speed. I still build my baits exactly the same way as he taught me. It's slow but the quality is 2nd to none.

Do you have any of his squared bill shallow runners?

I'm not even going to comment on Stringjam, there is not a builder in the country he don't have a bait from. Now the he has started painting, anything else from me and he has to paint it himself.

I will call him later on tonight and tell him you say hi. I don't have any of the shallow runners (YET) I went fishing with him last month on High Rock, we had a blast. Now I want to see some of your baits!
BTW, those baits I posted were Bagley B4's. Really hard to find!

Good stuff. Keep em coming.

Don't see a scratch on any of yours, stringman. Both of my new wobbler endured some beating. Couldn't help myself not to throw em.

Anyone have a photo of WEC chocolate shad so I can have it duplicated? Thanks.

My baits get "shot" before they ever touch the water........be proud of your beaten' up Wobblers - it's the only way to fly!! ;) No matter how good the finish, they all wear.

Here is a Calvin Johnson modified KB3 body with a DB3 lip in what I believe to be the Clark Gable color. Besides the lip, throat weighting and the addition of a glass rattle are some of the upgrades to this bait. Are these fairly hard to come by? I picked this up not too long ago not really knowing much about the builder. All I know is that they don't pop up for sale very often (if at all) which I would take as a good sign
