last year every pike i hooked/caught were on lures 3" or smaller. However, spinnerbaits are a mainstay, as well as jerkbaits like the x-rap work as well. Spoons are good too (although I have only caught one pike on a 1" spoon, ive lost 2 others on small jigging spoons). This year i caught my new PB (31") on a subwalk 09.

Slipperybob has a good list ill throw in a few of my fav's.

7" super flukes

Best spoon i have used is the cheap chippawa worth spoons in gold and orange they out perform expensive daredevils year in year out.

In the spring when there lazy and in the bay's i use 10" lizards move them slow i have caught alot of big pike 40"+ this way.

Mid summer dont be afraid to fish deep structure with jig heads and large plastic tails.

My three basic lures that work very well for pike are spinnerbiats, spoons, and inline spinners. I actually catch more pike then bass with spinnerbaits. I use Terminator spinnerbaits tipped with a 4-inch mister twister curly tail grub. The titanium frame Terminator spinnerbiats can handle the abuse from the pike. Spoons are more versatile because they can cover the whole water column. You can work them fast for a shallower presentation or work them slow to probe deeper waters. I've used a few different spoons and my favorite at the moment is the Mepps Syclops. As for inline spinners, any brand will do. The one I used to use was the Mepps Aglia. I don't use inline spinners anymore because they cause too much line twist (that's even with a swivel).

Topwater is my favorite way to catch pike. Any walk-the-dog stlye lure will work. Buzzbaits are good too. Pike hitting topwater lures are very scary and terrifying, but so fun to watch. Oh, and be sure to use a steel leader when pike fishing.

Agree with the list, although I just landed a 38" Northern in Canada on a worm & hook jigging for some Bass.

I just may have to give that more of a chance. I have to admit I was shocked, but as the saying goes - "I'll Take It"! Was on the Upper French.
