How2 Post Picture Attachments

I have noticed many members are having trouble posting picture attachments so I made a short (6 minute) Flash tutorial that walks you through the steps. You must have Flash Player installed in your browser to view this learning object.

Hey hood I noticed no one has responded to your thread so I figured I'd be the first. I use photobucket.com It's free and pretty easy to use. Just copy and paste IMG images once they have been submitted to your photo album.

Thanks,
Ken

This is a way to attach pictures directly to the TTF server. You don't need photobucket.com or any of the others. If you're like me, you hesitate to hand your email addy out to folks like photobucket for "free". ;)

Mark, I have a problem where it says my picture is to large to post on the TT website. Is there anyway to correct or shrink the picture to post on here?

Thanks

If it's too large in Scope (i.e. pixel width has pushed much of the image off the dispay), then you need to resize by scale or crop. There are several programs out there that do that...Windows Paint comes with XP and Vista and will resize images. The rough sizes (please correct me if I'm wrong) are 550 pixel width and about 400 pixels high before scroll bars appear around your pic.

If the picture size is too large (i.e. 700K or something), you can make it smaller by scaling and/or cropping too. However, the quality setting you choose when saving a JPEG has the greatest effect on filesize. Instead of "maximum" or "10", try "average" or "6". As to what the exact filesize limits are, I'll bug JIP and try to find out from him.

Max file size is 100KB

Google "photo resize" and there are a ton of picture resizers online now.
I've tried a few and it works.

Hello
Just found this site today and I'm really happy to find others who are "afflicted."
The cold weather up here in northern New Jersey has it too cold to tie knots, so I'm reduced to trolling on line for fishing information, and shopping for more fishing stuff to drive my wife crazy.
Just trying to figure out site navigation and saw this thread on posting pictures. Very helpful. Still have a few questions about posting. In the Post window, below the subject line, what are the
Quote, Code, List, List=, [*], Img, and URL buttons for, and how are they used?
Also I noticed that some guys have photos or gif's with their signatures. How do they do that?
Thanks
