2 Grand for 1 year

2 Grand for 1 year

I was looking into getting a newer unit. To be exact a h/b SI but I looked at the warranty and I was amazed. So I looked at Lowrances and they are pretty much the same and so I am saying to myself why don't the warranty last longer? I know that you can pay for an extended warranty but when you sum up what your paying is it really worth it?

It may be me but I would think that for 15 hundred and up for a unit a company would warranty it longer.
I have a discontinued 522c i gps by lowrance and it was the hot rock when I purchased the boat. Now that its discontinued service turn around are painful. I meet guy who has 3 and rotates them through when he has to send one back for service. To me that is rediculus. I think we should demand more from the manufactors for the price we are paying. Maybe its just me but that is just how I feel. The only curve to the law of supply and demand is to demand the supplier to give you more bang for the buck by not demanding I guess.

I agree but what can you do? At least with the HDS units you get 2 years. At the same time these units take a beating on the boats so I can understand why they have such a short warranty.

I give my units TLC, never trailering with the units installed. The LCX25C and HDS10 ride on cushions till I am ready to launch.
