Your comments in various posts about the Junk :evil22: is one of the reasons I decided to purchase the rod \:D/

Looking forward to that first fish with the combination.

;) Always do what I can to further the "cause".

Seriously, the GC Junk is pretty amazing...an "all around" that will surprise you with it's sensitivity and amaze you with it's back bone. The only fault I have with mine is the metal star winding check on the foregrip is tarnished/discolored (actually came that way to me when new). Nothing i've tried has removed the discoloration. Doesn't affect performance one bit...but not very appealing to the eye.

As stated previously..they will bury me with this rod (in an undisclosed location  ) just to deter any "Indiana Jones" types :big grin:

I noticed the same thing on both the Junk and my Scarface. Blue Magic Metal Polish worked very well with cleaning up the oxidation on my Ito Ai, so I decided to try it on the Gan Craft winding check.

I used a toothpick to apply a small amount of the polish to just a small area of the winding check, then removed it with a clean cloth along with any polish that was on the blank/foregrip. The polish definitely cleans the oxidation and restores/creates a shine. But, it is a major pain to apply without coating the blank and foregrip, which is the reason for using a toothpick "applicator" and working on a small area at a time. Below is a "before" picture and an "after" the first application picture. It will be a tedious, multi-application process, but I think the result will be worth the time spent because why have such a "sweet" rod if it is not looking good 8-) :big grin:

Great to know :D ...I tried "Mothers" and was not impressed with the result. I'll give your suggestion a try. I only hope it stays shinny for a while...maybe a clear coat afterward would be worthwhile.
