Re: Rod sensitivity subjective?
It's simple enough compared to many other testing panels out there, there's a bunch of common variables and many participants that provide scenarios of sensitivity can be preformed. Some baseline parameters & rods setup the same exact way through various obstacles. Remove the human element out of it...

Re: St. Croix vs Loomis: stirring the pot
I've fished the new Croix Xtreme 6'10MLXF right next to the NRX 822DSR numerous times just for the sake of having them against each other, both very comparable models in dropshotting. In my longtested opinion, both rods are very sensitive, but the NRX is in no doubt, more sensitive than the Xtreme. ...

Re: Met MGL vs Curado 70 for my applications
The 70 is a fantastic reel just like the 50 was, with the higher ratios offered it just makes it a bit better.

Re: How do you define your enthusiasm?
I'm perfectly fine in the $150-200 range of rods and reels, Any higher and I consider that treating myself but I will not waste my money on retail.

Re: Diawa CT R vs Currado 70
I use the curado 70 size just like I did with the curado 50 size, with almost every single technique out there. The few exceptions would be larger swimbaits (2oz+) and deep cranks on mono/copoly (20ft+ 1.5oz+) I can't comment on the CTS but I've heard that the frame is built smaller and lighter now ...

Re: Lew's reel size.
Check the specs for the spool capacity, that'll give you a rough estimate of sizing, also Lew's are mainly or if not all Doyo made reels from Korea so handling them will feel similar to other Doyo reels like pfluger/abu/etc

Al must of banned the wrong dude... I was wondering that ... someone went through a lot of effort to take down a fishing site :? I've been a member there for a number of years (different screen name) and the fact is it's one of the least moderated sites of it's type out there - contrary to some opi...

Re: Tackle Tour needs a jwr shootout for 2015, who agrees?
While I think that would be an awesome article I don't think there is really a way to scientifically test sensitivity? Plus sensitivity seems to differ from person to person. In any case I want to see this test happen :D Why not? Just hook a machine to it and record parameters like other tests, hav...

Re: Question for the St. Croix guys
. I mainly fish 3/8 jigs in open water. So wpuld the 7' M feel closer in power to the 893? The elite/xtreme 70MF can handle 3/8 and even 1/2 fine in open water, sparse cover too. Likening said in another thread, get a hold of a sk2 seat to see of you like it or not, there's always the elite I don't...

IAY wrote:Its pronounced Kishyu-Bushin. Direct translation would be Demon's hand, Budda's Heart. In Japan, the demon or "Oni" are supposed to be the gate keepers of underworld, and have great skill in martial abilities. So basically, have skill of a demon, but heart of a buddha.
Thank you for the answer
