Re: Expense and Certate LT

To answer your question. The bail on a Excense will hit my knuckles. Stem is short IMHO. Do not have this problem with a Daiwa.

Re: I don't use spinning gear at all. Do you?

I use spinning gear for bush fishing. Been doing more and more of it. There are some nice hidden spots if you are willing to machete your way to them.

Re: Is Daiwa becoming a Tatula???

The going rate for used SV103s is insane if you can even find them for sale. I wish I would have picked one up when I could have gotten them new. I have not bought a new Daiwa casting reel since I picked up a good many sv103's when they where on close out. Probably pick up enough to last the rest o...

Re: Loomis TSR791S GLX

I have both. If you blind folded me. I could not tell the difference between the GLX and non GLX. Biggest difference is the compents they are made of. GLX is slightly lighter.

Re: Luvias LT

I think the pricing hurts them a little bit. You can order the Certate from Japan for less than the Luvias in the US. They had some issues with distribution as well because of the corona. I am sure it is a really good reel though. I was eyeballing one pretty hard, until I found a good deal on a Cer...

Re: Steez sv103 spool.

Honestly if you’re trying to free the spool up I’d stay with changing the inductor spring or rotor. Both are cheaper than a new spool and are known to make SV spools quicker. There’s a thread I’ll link at the bottom that covers doing this. http://www.tackletour.net/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=83670 I will...

Steez sv103 spool.

I have been use my Steez 103sv to throw 1/4 to 5/16 crankbaits. It does a OK job but I feel it could be better. The reel is stock. Should I upgrade the bearings or put in a new spool? Which spool would yall recommend?
Thanks

Re: How Do I Remove A Retainer Ring?

I use hemostat clamps. They work good for knocking them off. And they work good to hold them in place when you put them back on.

Re: Lets see all them Daiwa's

Just finished this project up. It's built from an OG Zillion 7.1. The only thing that I needed was the brake set plate and magnets from a TDZ. https://i.postimg.cc/nhgRZfND/20200313-122212.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/RhSGGSJj/20200313-122233.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/rmCQS0s1/20200313-122310.jpg Very n...

Re: Do you keep back up reel

Yes. I have 13 reels unopened in the box. Most of them I picked up when on sale. Like when Plat had the Daiwa presso ltd on sale for 50% off. I picked up three of them. I bought a good many of Daiwa's sv103 when they were discontinued. They are one of my favorite reels.
