Re: Sea trout baitcaster recommendations?
Take a look at the Daiwa Tatula....try the type R if you need the "shiny" bits. They alos have an HD version with extra line cap. I have one on order to test out. I think it will make a heck of a inshore reel. The specs match up well for it at a price point that is VERY reasonable.

Re: Rod for Alphas/Pixy
I dont wade fish but I do fish the old Purple 103L Alphas. I have a pair and the rod they are on is the Megabass F4-610XDti Elseil. For what I do inshore fishing from slinging a she-dog to a Mirrodine or a 1/4oz jig and plastic....heck the thing even does fine with a popping cork and a Vudu shrimp u...

Re: Best Baitcasting Reels for both Salt- and Freshwater Fis
I've caught a ton of fish on my tatulas fishing almost exclusively salt and they've held up great. It's a fantastic reel for the job if you're on a budget. First, great pics. Second, I have been researching that particular reel very hard the last couple of days. I really think I am going to give on...

Re: Which Megabass for inshore spinning (mainly soft plastic
Jack, the Beast looks like a very viable inshore stick. Also take a loook at the Onikirimaru F5-70X4S. Those are the 2 Megbass models that look like the best fit for the type of inshore fishing I do. Gulf of Mexico from Alabame to Louisiana. The beast would be a crossover rod for me to be used from ...

Re: Braid on Casting Reels
One thing I do with all my reels ( baitcaster or spinning) when I spool up braid is to hose them down with Reel Magic....I mean dripping. I also give them a good shot of it after every fishing trip. It helped to cut down on the issue for me the few times I have had it happen. I found it happened to ...

Re: What size braid for spinning reel?
30lb PP, Superslick, or 832. I use that size on 3000-4000size reels. I also found that wind knots were more prevalent with anything smaller. Most of the ones listed above are the same diameter as 8lb mono...ish and handle very well. Fluoro leaders are fairly standard when using braid on spinning gea...

Re: Getting out of fishing.
Good post with a lot of insight. I stopped..for a long time. My issue was a divorce, hang on. In the divorce I lost my fishing partner. I tried to stay with it and every time I went little things would happen that reminded me of, well, the past. I ended up selling the boat and just packing eve...

Re: Shimano Brenious - Saltwater Baitfinesse
O.K. they got my attention. I am also looking hard at the Daiwa Tatula JDM. I used to bass fish and use a lot of JDM stuff. I now fish primarily inshore salt ( trout, redfish, flounder) and have been wondering about crossover ( salt water safe) JDM stuff. Exciting times for me and terror for the wal...

Re: Best Baitcasting Reels for both Salt- and Freshwater Fis
I fish the much the same as btoups. A lot of folks down here use Shimnao stuff for a very good reason...it works and usually holds up very well. I have an issue with a little slop in the handle ( no big deal just a personal tick for a tackle junkie). I fish Quantum almost exclusively. Take a look at...

Re: Are Trokar's worth the money?
I have some buddies that love them for tournaments but don't use them to fun fish. They say that they are only good for one or two fish. That is the only time we use them down this way. A lot of Redfish tour guys are starting to use them because the initial hook up is very good with the Trokar...2,...

Crankbaits for me. I keep buying them but never use them Actually, I think ya'll are viewing this deal in the wrong light.....buying them is a "technique" in and of its own. The fishing them part is a whole other animal....Keep buying them fellas, I do. 8-[ Carolina rig for me, I just never get use...

Re: Golf Course fishin FINALLY!!!!
Thanks for the replies fellas. I agree I could have matched a reel with a little more beef but I was on the way out the door and it was the closest thing at hand with Briad on it. The std duty for that rig is Horny Toads in the junk. I had no doubt about the HE69APC and after that fish the Pixy gets...
