Re: Seeking Info on Sinking Braid Line
the spider wire braid is not very good at all, was fishing with my dad and he was constantly breaking of the 40lb, looked at his line and it was frayed everywhere, yet the rod and line guide passed the cue tip test. The suffix 832 is a great line, but I wouldn't say it sinks, its more neutrally buoy...

Re: Skip jig recommendations.
Yeah I ordered some along with fintech and some other another TTF member showed me. If you got the fin tech title shot throw a missile baits d bomb on it! not only does a skip a mile but you wont have to change your plastic every other fish, it'll be more like every 15... Also dont forget about goo...

Re: Favorite square bill color?
I'm really appreciating all of the replies! Did work on the Mississipi a couple weeks ago switching between a chart black back or chart blue back in backwaters and a bloody shad pattern on main river eddies. Keep them coming!!!!

Favorite square bill color?
I'm starting to really get into the crankbait game, especially square bills and was just curious to hear what colors people like to throw and in what water color. I know some people swear by bright colors while others prefer to fish natural colors so I'm curious to see which is more popular.

Re: Auto Graphed Reels
Interesting feed back from all of you! Imo I would think that it would bump the value a little bit more... Of course as time progresses... As time progresses they will sign more and more autographs.... Not to be a downer but like most professional anglers they are very easy to talk to because they ...

Re: Rough Day on the Lake Today!
Had a 724 and 764 before i switched to dobyns. both were recons and i broke both within the first week of use. sent them in and got new rods, then broke the 764 within the first week again... was too scared to use the 724 so its now in my basement waiting for someone to buy it.

Re: Creature Fever : It Really Is "Da-Bomb"!
This review really confuses me... The reason being that some of my favorite features of the bait are said to be non existent on the review. Application:"The tails on the DBomb are pretty standard meaning they don't have any ridges or contours to help them move when attempting to swim the bait back t...

Re: problem with my Lew's Tournament Pro Speed Spool Casting
Personally I would call lews to see what they had to do to fix the reel when it was sent in. If it was just something becoming misaligned and not a part actually breaking, I would just go in and fix it myself. Only do this if you are comfortable with it though...

Re: Rod for Tubes/Shakeyhead
Since you don't throw them often id go with a Dobyns champion 702sf. I have it and love it. It may not be as sensitive as a DX but its still very sensitive, and handles tubes and shakey heads perfectly.

Re: Working on Reels - Tips!
most of the reels i work on have never been cleaned before and are pretty gross. one thing ive found is to take a tooth pick and dip it in simple green and really get into the gears, it has more force than a tooth brush with out the risk of scratching anything, and it gives you a nice fresh start.

you really should check the frabill out, i have it and love it. it uses teflon instead of goretex and doesnt constantly need to be re waterproofed like goretex suits.

Re: Fishing around rocks and boulders line breaks
Braid and rocks do not mix well. Up here in Wisconsin I throw braid all the time because there's so much weeds, but when you get around rocks/ riprap you need to tie on a flouro leader. So give that a shot and see how it goes

Re: dobyns savy vs phenix recon?
I would easily chose the savvy over the recon. I had 4 recons and 3 of them broke with no obvious cause... Now I'm in no way bashing phenix just simply stating what happened. I've had great success with my savvys and they are a joy to fish with, very well balanced. There is the 735 that can double a...
