Re: 25th Anniversary Kistler Helium LTA

Yep, I'm aware as to how blanks are made. Just not sure what you're referring to as machinery - the press itself? The original press used for the OG Helium, graphite layup, blank materials?

Re: Midstrolling

I'm a bit confused. You're looking to fish up to 3/8 oz on an ultra light / light powered spinning rod? In river current? I enjoy strolling, but with lighter weight. I prefer solid tips for this technique. Lightly shaking the presentation while reeling is accomplished easier imo, plus the softer tip...

Re: 25th Anniversary Kistler Helium LTA

The blank is made from the machinery that produced the original Helium series... a different manufacturer purchased the equipment a while ago and is now producing blanks. Kistler went to them with the original design to have these anniversary blanks made celebrating the original series using the sa...

Daiwa Steez Hurricane (JDM)

Anyone using this rod? I'm really starting to enjoy fishing solid tip sticks. I own the Steez Fire Wolf, also a solid tip model. My Fire Wolf has a regular fast taper, and the Hurricane has a extra fast taper, plus the Hurricane has a slight bit more power. Just curious what people are using it for,...

Re: Things You Have NEVER Tried

No magnum spoons for me, either. Ive never fly fished, but I learned how to use a fly rod in my buddy's back yard. Ive never used a spybait or a ned rig. Dont kill me for this, but I can count on one hand how many times Ive thrown a suspending jerkbait and Ive never thrown a Vision 110. Blasphemy! ...

They are Fuji K-Frame Alconite guides.
Must not be the titanium alconites. I thought Fuji stopped producing those. I've never had an issue with alconites myself. Still have a handful of customs with them. Blank is much more important to me.

Ordered one from The Hook Up Tackle. Will be putting it on my NRX+ 843.
500 bones, ouch. I'm trying to hold out until the leftys are officially out and available.

Kisler is moving on to yet another blank manufacturer. Dedicated thread on it.

Re: Kistler back to US made blanks

Could be any number of companies, who knows. It would be awesome if they went with Point Blank, but I don't know if those are manufactured in the States. I haven't purchased or used anything from Kisler in ages. Since the original Magnesium built on Shikari blanks. Wish I still had that one.

I've been told that the Technix rods were really good for bottom contact if you can find one.

Re: Shimano Excite Top Rods

I prefer a solid tip for light, feel, line watching techniques, such as hover strolling. Took me a while to feel comfortable with them, but I now own 3 solid tip rods. Definitely not for everyone.

Re: 2024 Metanium DC

It can hold 100 yards of 12lb line. Not sure what lb test you want to use, but that should be plenty of line for most bass fishing applications. Most of my Daiwa reels hold roughly 20 to 30 yards less, and I haven't ran into any issues. I don't really fish anything heavier than a half ounce though.
