Re: Centrifugal Brake Question
Im gonna have to stand on the other side of the fence on this one. I clean my brake drums with cleaner solvant, then a drop of oil on a foam q-tip and swipe the drum with it. The reason I do this is that it cuts down the raw friction of the brakes on the drum and prolongs the life of the parts. Fri...

Re: What kind of rod for swim baits?
The Powell Spook and Trap rod should work fine. Rated 3/8 to 1 oz. I have thrown baits over that rating comfortably with mine.

Re: 3rd generation revo reviews
Just read the review about the 3rd generation revo on TT. For one I don't understand why there was so much praise for this reel They are by no means smooth and the big gear bulge. I have fished both a friend of mine couldn't stop talking about how great they were, well he had to return both one for...

Re: Gen 3 stx with boca os
The G2 Premiers have aluminum gears were as the G2 STX have bronze gears which I find to be much smoother. Not sure what the G3's have.

Re: Conquest 51 falling out of favor?
The CQ 50 is one of my all time favorites and as stated built like a fine watch. Comfortable to palm, great caster, super smooth and with an all around gear ratio. I use mine for anything from small to medium cranks, spinnerbaits, worming and topwater.

Re: Smoothness - impossible to be found?
I have bronze 6.4:1 gears in my Core 50 and its way smoother than the 7.1 aluminum gears.smooth as butter
Come to think of it all my reels with aluminum gears I replaced to bronze and it made a huge differance in smoothness.

I personaly prefer a fast to moderate action for spinnerbaits. I miss to many on the extra fast.

Re: Best casting Daiwa reel?
I just purchased a TD-Z 100M from Robert here on the forum. It has upgraded bearings, drag and the upgraded long cast spool. I put some sunline 12 lb floro on it and was shocked at the casting distance this past Saturday. I was throwing a 1/2 ounce rattle trap on a GL2 852 rod. No backlashes and un...
