Re: What’s on your Reel’s Foot

I use the JDM Abu Garcia reel foot covers/protectors. https://i.postimg.cc/sgndrfHX/Abu-Garcia-reel-foot-cover.jpg Do you know what size cover fit Daiwa reel feet? The mediums are an exact fit. However, from what I have found is that the reel feet are too thick with them on for many rods I own (NRX...

Re: GLX 842C

It has a pretty light tip. It's a dream to fish with the Steez CT. I use it for 1/4 oz finesse jigs.

Re: 20 mentainum

Wow, never would have guessed it was so comparable to the CT in size. Thanks for the pics, looks like Shimano has a real star on their hands. The CT feels much more refined to me. The SV TW feels more refined, but not as big of a gap. I have two Legend Elite MH rods for flipping milfoil that the Me...

Re: 20 mentainum

I'll preface this post that I''m a Daiwa fan, but I always try out the Shimanos that pique my interest. I have owned Bantam MGL, Mentanium MGL, Stella FJ, Exsense, so basically all of the recent high-end Shimanos. First impression of the reel is that this is Shimanos best bait casting reel they have...

Re: What rod handle material do you prefer?

Flor grade cork has no rivals. You never see it on conventional fishing rods, but I have a couple of fly rods by Chris Barclay and it's exceptional. It doesn't even feel like cork. One of the rods has a ventilated grip. I should throw up a pic on here. You should. Highest grade cork feels lovely, b...

Re: '19 Steez ct sv tw

Got the reel in the mail today. First impression is this is the finest reel Daiwa has made. I didn't think a reel could get smoother than a Steez SV TW, but it is. I'm going to put it on a 842 GLX and can't wait to try it out.

Re: Ray’s studio??

Update: found rays studio brake hubs for curado 70s from a vendor on AliExpress. $5/each; beats the $77 they were up for on eBay lol. Still gonna see if I can find them for curado ks and chronarch mgls. Will let you know how they work! (And better yet if I can get shimano OEM versions). Thanks all ...

Has anyone ordered anything lately from Japan? I'm wondering how the shipping is affected by the coronavirus.

What would you guys get between this reel and the Elite PF? It would be used for flipping milfoil.

Re: nrz 852c vs st croix elite 7mfc

I have had them both in spinning variants. The tapers are different with the NRX being really fast and the St Croix having a fast tip with a parabolic action. The St Croix is more comparable to a 842 MBR taper.

Re: Tat Elite vs Zillion SV

I opened up the reel tonight and it was bone dry. I can't believe Daiwa would let a reel leave the factory with no grease on the gears. I added medium ZPI grease to the gears and it's pretty smooth. I would be hard pressed to feel the difference between it and a Steez A if I were blindfolded.
