Re: New 2020 Shimano Metanium

This reel looks great. I used to prefer Daiwa baitcasters and Shimano spinning reels, but I think I may be swapping. I love the LT spinning reels and I'm not a fan of the Steez variants.

Re: 4000 Spinning Reels for 7'6" L Rods

4000 size Daiwa's in the LT sizing is perfect. The larger spool also reduces line twist.

Re: Hedgehog Bearing Kit for Tatula LT

Thanks. I was wondering if the line management would be better with the bearing replacing the bushing.

Re: What would a J Dream in

Do an advanced search on eBay and look at the sold listings from the past year. There should be one in similar condition and you’ll find out the value.

Hedgehog Bearing Kit for Tatula LT

Has anyone installed one of these kits? I'm interested if the performance gain is worthwhile. Installation looks pretty straightforward.

Re: Medium Heavy Spinning Rods

After researching my options, I went with the Daiwa Tatula Elite Power Spin. It seems like it was designed exactly what I was looking for. It was also a lot cheaper than the other rods I was looking at, but cost wasn't the deciding factor. “I use this most rod for fishing Yamamoto Senkos with braide...

Re: Medium Heavy Spinning Rods

I wish the MB Beast Hunts rod was still in production. That rod seems exactly what I’m looking for based on the description of the rod.

Re: Medium Heavy Spinning Rods

Is there any noticeable difference in the tip or power between the Conquest and GLX?

Re: Medium Heavy Spinning Rods

How heavy is the cover you're fishing? Power shotting is a primary technique for me on the Delta. I will use casting or spinning, depending on my mood. Of the rods you've listed, I'd go for the 843 GLX. However, there is no need to limit yourself to those choices. My personal rod at this moment is ...

Re: Disappointed

I think it’s part of the deal with trying to get the best rods that fit your style. I’ve bought and sold a lot of rods trying to find ones that fit my style. A lot have been highly regarded on here such as MB Javelin and 894 NRX.

Re: Medium Heavy Spinning Rods

If you can find one, the old Loomis BSR852 will be perfect. It was originally designated as a “Senko” rod and has a lot more power than the current Loomis 2-power offerings. Thinking about replacing the recoils with SIC’s and using mine for Inshore. The recoils are a deal breaker since I use a brai...

Medium Heavy Spinning Rods

I'm kicking around the idea of getting a medium heavy spinning rod for power shotting. The rod would need to have a lighter tip with a strong backbone to pull the fish out of cover. Rods I have come across online include: 843 SJR Conquest 843 SJR GLX MB TS 775 Daiwa Steez AGS 7 H St Croix Legend Eli...

Re: 7'6" Spinning Rods

I have a 901 and two 7'6 MML AGS rods. I agree with Gary that the 901 is a specialized stick and the Steez is more of an all arounder. Here are my thoughts on the two rods: Tip The tip is really light on the 901, but fast and very similar to a 820 DSR GLX that I have. It's whippy, but has a really ...
