Re: JIS screw driver set
wiha precision set
wera precision set
both perform great and you'll never strip out a screw/allen/torx /w them. I use both due to how I like to grip certain drivers with certain applications.
use something from that set 99% of the time I work on reels.
You can usually find each set for sub 40$

Re: Chronarch 100D7 Noise
Remove any grease from the spool pin. Sorry guys but that is bad info with our reels. The grease will fly off once you cast anyways then you are left with grease on the spool or pinion gear which will slow down your cast. You want the spool shaft and center of the pinion gear clean of grease and oi...

Re: Chronarch 100D7 Noise
Could be gears but again, very hard to tell. I can barely hear much sound in the video. The sound I do hear though sounds pretty rough retrieve wise. Was thinking it could be the pinion slots could be worn but adding grease to the spool pin is what stops that temporarily. The rattling really is remi...

Re: Chronarch 100D7 Noise
It’s really hard to hear much in the video but it sounds alot play in the pinion and spool shaft pin. Put a little grease on the spool pin tips and see if that helps the noise. I had a very similar issue on a daiwa 50th. The pinion was not being fully seated through the bearing cause the spool pin t...

Re: SV boost and shallow SV boost spool question
I threw an SV boost in an SV103 to try and didn't care for it. You could definitely notice the controlled braking '(in a good way if you want to just set and forget) within low/mid/high but it felt over braked to me personally. Still prefer the 1016 SVTW in the SV103. Boost spool feels really nice i...

That’s maybe a 1/4 higher than the xbites and that rod balances perfect with a steez . My FMJ will be here Thursday.

Re: Have you preordered a mb p5 destroyer?
Gary, I am eyeing the P5 FMJ. What would you consider the upper range of what it can handle? Would it be okay to throw a 3/4 jig with 5 inch twin tail? I'd want the BMG for that application without a doubt. I haven't yet thrown any 3/4 oz jigs with large trailers on the FMJ, but I believe that is o...

Re: Project t—steez A II
At first glance, just looks like the current Steez A /w hyperdrive and an SV boost spool which isnt a bad thing depending on price. I've thrown the Zillion G gears and various spools in my Steez A's and it's made a difference. Hopefully the paint job is better and doesn't chip at 2 looks at it.

Re: Nrx 893c vs Megabass P5 X-bites
Xbites - too soft for solid hook sets with more than an 1/8 oz weight. Superb balance and weight. Sensitive as any rod I’ve owned. Really? I've had no problem with hard hook sets in brush w/3/8 oz. jigs. I wouldn't put a 3/4 oz. jig on it in cover, but zero problems, imo up to 1/2 oz. in cover. Ver...

Re: Daiwa Zillion G 1000 Gear Longevity
Been using the JDM zillion G for about a year and half now, USDM Zillion G for a year, and Zillion G gear sets in Steez A's and Morethan reels since the gear sets became available. Heavy use. Still butter smooth. I use Krytox 225 grease if anybody cares. Which Zillion G brass or Zillion 1000 duralu...
