I'm 5'4" and I have the same problem. Thats why I use the 807
I also throw all of those baits and the 807 handles them great.

Re: Switching from Dobyns to NRX...
Looks like I'll start with the 893 then! One last question. Is the sensitivity compared to the champion extreme really noticeable?
Thanks and sorry for the newbie questions!

Re: Switching from Dobyns to NRX...
No I was looking at the 7'5" NRXs.
I mostly fish Texas Rigs with 1/8-3/16oz weights and a roboworm, 1/4-1/2oz jigs and 1/8-3/16oz Shakeyheads

Switching from Dobyns to NRX...
I've decided to take the NRX plunge!
The only thing stopping me thus far are the bizarre(compared to Dobyns) ratings on the NRXs. In your opinons, which NRXs compare best to the DX703c and DX704c?
Also whats with the NRXs line ratings!? Thanks for your help everyone!

Re: Dobyns Swimbait 807?
JLP is right. In my opinion there is no one rod that will throw baits like the S-Waver and also throw 10oz baits.
Because of that I have the 795 ML and the 807. Pretty much have all the bases covered with that except for the huge stuff...

Major Craft Volkey?
Hey everyone! I just snagged a Volkey for $75...based on the looks and feel alone I couldn't pass it up. Does anyone have any experience with these rods?
What would you compare the sensitivity to? I figure if worst comes to worst I can just use it as a jerkbait rod!

Re: Core 50 gear swap on Chronarch 50 question
I'm interested in upgrading my 2 Curado 51Es with the KTF gear set. I can't justify the Core set...it seems like it's only a 3 IPT upgrade...any idea what the IPT is with the KTF upgrade? Also I'm assuming this is the proper set http://www.karil.co.jp/online_shop/sys/catalogue.cgi?me=detail&ma=&mp=K...

Re: New shimano crucial info
We've already gotten quite a few in at our shop and rest assured they are very light and balance very well. Shimano got this rod right. Once you handle them I think most everyone will be pleasantly surprised.

KLX vs. Helium 3
Hey everyone! Just wanted some opinions on the KLX and Helium 3. I normally fish Champion Extremes but I do have a KLX. In my untrained hands the klx, while not as balanced, it feels atleast as sensitive as my DXs. So my question is, is the Helium 3 worth the extra money? Anyone fish the DX and the ...
Re: Fat Ika
I have friends who use the owner beast hooks and swear by them. I've always just used the regular 4/0 twistlock hooks
It is a bulky bait but I've never had any issues setting the hook on a regular hook. The Ika always slides out of the way just fine

Dobyns vs. Phenix Swimbait rods
I'm looking at the Dobyns Champion 795ML or the Phenix M1 8' Heavy The M1 has a slightly larger lure rating at 1-6 as opposed to the Dobyns 1-5 I've fished the Dobyns for a day and fell in love, however I am open to the Phenix, but I've never fished it. Can anyone who has handled this rod chime in o...

Re: Lamiglas Infinity rod ratings?
I am shore bound so I will mostly be casting 1/4-1/2oz jigs with paca chunks or smallie beavers as trailers
