Re: SsSv help

I have a Steez A spool in my SS/SV. Wish I had put the 8 ratio gears in my 7.1. I use mine for cranking and jerkbaits on a 7ft medium moderate rod, really like the reel though, might change it to a contact rod where I'd use it more. Worst thing about that reel is the super low drag pressure stock.....

Re: New majorcraft 5g ajing rod “aji-do”

Thanks..”feel a lot like speedstyle solid tip”. So it might not worth it for me then. I currently use speedstyle 6’3 solid tip especially for 1/64oz trout magnet when targeting bluegill. My assumption is Ajing rod is a tad softer than bass rod to help when loading light weight lure. I don’t have th...

Re: New majorcraft 5g ajing rod “aji-do”

Nice, are those solid tip? Look like it though. I might have to save some dough for a little longer one. Have you tried any lower weight than 1.8grams? These are solid tipped, I've gotten a bit more testing in compared to the MC days 6'3" UL SFS rod which is also solid tipped. The ajing rod tip is ...

Re: New majorcraft 5g ajing rod “aji-do”

Thanks Tim! It will be my weapon of choice for our little river canyon trip so you can try it out. Yeah the neon wraps are for strike detection. I know a lot of aji fishing is done at night so the neon probably makes a difference in the dark with artificial light. 2DEB3672-894B-4E47-AF9C-098CA2CFB6D...

Dang over $300??? I paid $230 for mine and I think it’s well worth the price of entry at that point.

Re: USDM BFS rods

I just picked up a majorcraft speedstyle 6'4" light powered casting rod with the solid tip and am impressed, more power than my UL powered days rod and the tip will be great with spoons and small jigs. Balance is at the lock nut without a reel on it making the tip even more lively. It was $157 on ma...

Re: Calcutta Conquest 2021 vs Calcutta Conquest BFS

I personally would want something with more capacity with swimbaits, at least a 200 size. My swimbait reel is a Luna 253 which holds quite a bit more than the 200 size.

Yes it’s confirmed. Or you can put aluminum gears in the alphas and save a little weight if you want to get it under 6oz.
You’ve read my mind lol.
FYI I just weighed the alphas with steez aluminum gears and it's now 163g (5.75oz)

Re: Zillion SV 1000 vs Alphas SV TW

Yes it’s confirmed you can swap the complete gear and drag set (need zillion drive shaft collar as well) from the zillion right into the alphas and have a clicking drag setup on the alphas. The alphas has a washer between the drive shaft collar and the bearing on the main shaft that you remove if yo...

Wow they look tip heavy
They aren't bad but don't have the "WOW" feather light tip like a Megabass rod. They are very comparable to similar powered ALX and Daiwa rod balance points. The overall weight of the rods is pretty light so it doesn't much power to manipulate the rod.
