Re: New Megabass Destroyers

Thanks Mr. Perry 8-) Some of those handles look like potential bigger bait sticks, any bones to drop me there? :big grin: I will try to chase down a full lineup listing and the estimated drop date for Japan on them. If They allow me to share the info publicly right now I will. We are ok with non-pu...

Re: New Megabass Destroyers

Hopeful for U.S. distribution. Perhaps, late summer/early fall here if there is U.S. distribution. [-o< Same here! If so, pre-orders will be available as usual from TT. I'll keep everyone posted. I definitely like the look of these :D Great! I "need" a few of these in the arsenal. Would much rather...

Summer time frame is what I heard Thanks. Hopeful for U.S. distribution. Perhaps, late summer/early fall here if there is U.S. distribution. [-o< I’m thirsty for more info on these, especially the dark sleeper. Already thinking about which rod(s) to sell to pick one or two of these puppies +1. The ...

Re: New Megabass Destroyers

Those are new additions to the Japan series Destroyers. There has not been a decision made yet as per them being added to US catalogor not. If it is decided to do so I will post it on this thread. A shame if they are not. Would love to have The Dark Sleeper and another model or 2. Any word on relea...

Re: Best Megabass Topwater rods?

Is the 2014 elseil the "big taper" model? If so, how do you like it with the medium fast taper vs the regular taper of the x7? Thanks No. The big taper is a previous Evo model, I haven't fished that one. The medium fast taper is different the the regular of the X7. If you include the whole range of...

I have a few Ultima rods, one of them being the 172H and they are incredible. That new grip and blank on the 172H has me thinking about getting another.
+1. Incredible rod series--I love em.

Re: We really not gonna talk about the new 2020 Ultima 172H “full carbon triangle grip”?

My favorite line of rods. I have a few of the different models--the Ultimas are incredible rods. The 66M Versatile is the best medium rod I've ever used. I badly want the 66m versatile. What are you using it for and what reel have you got it paired with? Everything. Seriously. I’m using a Met MGL H...

Re: Best Megabass Topwater rods?

The Elseil models handle topwater and jerkbaits very well (along with other techniques too). Sweet spot is 3/8 to 1/2 lures, but I’ve used the 1/4 oz pop-X with no problems. The Diablo models (like a Diablo Fast move) are good, I use a whopper plopped regularly with one. I’m sure that a one ten sti...

Re: New 2020 Shimano Metanium

He’s now a full Shimano/G Loomis Pro So, has he given up the Enigma rods that he helped design? I'm aware that he's used Met reels for a number of years, but he got a bunch of $ to leave Megabass for the start up rod company. I haven't used or kept up with Enigma rods, so just curious... EDIT: foun...

Re: New 2020 Shimano Metanium

Shimano US video. Aaron Martens brings up a subtle but good point, which will go past most non-Bantam owners...”Its warmer” My hands freeze with my Bantam in cold weather, even with gloves https://youtu.be/d-si3y2UXw4 Interesting to see Martens w/a Gloomis rod. ;) But as someone whole still loves t...

Re: JDM bottom contact rod

Hadn't owned a jdm rod since owning a few of the steez rods when they came over here years ago. Wanted a couple of ultra light weight, perfectly balanced and sexy sticks to complement my american muscle. Ordered a couple of glorious sticks and was more than impressed by how they fished. As a matter...

Re: JDM bottom contact rod

I am surprised not to hear anything about Evergreen yet. If the most that you would throw on the rod is 3/4 oz, then the Super Stallion might not be the best choice, assuming that you are talking about bottom contact. The TKLC SS and TKIC SS are really good rods given their versatility--you can thr...
