I was also hoping to see if anyone could post up their thoughts on the P5 OneTen. 😬

I haven’t used mine yet. Just received it yesterday.

What size whopper plopper were you fishing?

Thanks.
I fished w/the size 90. Also, the rod worked well with crankbaits in the 3/8 oz. range.

Re: Megabass Destroyer OneTen

Anyone fishing the P5 OneTen? What else does it do well besides fishing the Vision 110? Yes. Any P5 results? Not sure what your answer means??? Regardless, I got impatient and got one from TheTackleTrap. The slow taper is interesting and new to me. What have you been using the One Ten Stick for (be...

How would an IP68 balance on a P5 SD?
Fwiw, I've used a Daiwa Zillion Type R (8.5 ounces) and a Shimano Core 100MG (6.1 ounces) w/the SD and both balanced right at the winding check/lockdown nut. The end balancer on these rods is a nice, understated feature, imo.

Re: P5 super destroyer

I have the P5 SD and it is a med-fast action. If you are familiar with other MB rods than it fits in line with the med-fast tapers of some of their Evoluzion rods (imo). The rod is light, but has a lot of backbone. With that slower taper... is the tip crisp and whippy enough to throw jerkbaits on t...

Re: P5 super destroyer

my goodness the balance of these rods is absolutely fantastic. now y can't the nrx go this route? End Balancer FTW! Both models that I have (DS and SD), the rods balance right at the winding check/lockdown nut--as seen in the picture in this thread with any of the three reels (Met '20, Daiwa Type R...

Re: P5 super destroyer

Every description of the P5SD is that it comes with a deeper taper or slower action ( working on using the correct jargon- so did I do that correctly ?) But that’s what kinda concerns me about it. I’m not sure to what degree it is but I know that the previous version is true jig worm or frog rod. I...

Re: New Megabass Destroyers

So, I think I was looking at the wrong comparison (yes I would love the composite grip on the SD), but I WANT the BETTER JIG rod! SO... is it the FMJ F6-71X (and I LOVE this rod for jigs) or is it the P5 F6.5-67X Tachyon Shaft?? Perhaps, @bronzefly can chime in or someone else that has used the new...

Re: New Megabass Destroyers

Thanks buddy. Just ordered a DS myself. How does it handle 3/16-1/4 Oz t-rigs? And 3/8 oz jigs? I’ll be buying SD next...would love to hear more about that rod also DS is great with bottom contact (I fish the DS lures like a jig). I think that that sensitivity difference compared to an NRX rod is s...

Re: Help me choose a Destroyer P5!

What do you guys think? Or any other rod recommendations for the aldeberan bfs xg? The Dark Sleeper (I have one) is awesome. A true fast taper gives it a lot of versatility. Sensitivity is excellent for bottom contact baits as well. I don't think that a Aldeberan BFS XG reel would be a good fit for...

Re: New Megabass Destroyers

SD is listed as medium fast and it feels like the "typical" medium fast that I'm familiar with from other MB rods. I think that the DS is more sensitive than the SD, largely a function of the fast(er) taper rod. jmb27, have you fished either the Daemos or FMJ? It sounds like their both being Fast v...

Re: New Megabass Destroyers

how's the action on the DS and SD? from the little feedback I've gotten so far, the x-bites fish more like a F as opposed to XF. also, what are your intended applications for the ds and sd? upper and lower lure ratings? lastly, the question that might be on most people's minds, the sensitivity comp...

Re: First experience with japanese round profile BFSish reel: Shimano Calcutta Conquest 51

I really have a problem over shimano lowering quality and reliability for it's newer reels. Fish a Conquest BFS reel, the new Antares or the Met 20's and you'll quit making every post of yours one about your issues with Shimano. ;) Are you hurting because of my posts? lol So, to have any semblance ...

Re: New Megabass Destroyers

How's the balance of the X-bites with the met??? On the lock nut. For a 7-2 5.5 power it’s pretty damn good. Definitely Floats. Btw my Met is JDM and weighs in at 6.1oz. That is excellent for a rod that light with that length and power! Thanks for the pic =D> I agree. the more I look at this rod, t...
