Re: '19 Steez ct sv tw
I'm interested in this reel, but have been unable to find any posts that give detailed information on its performance. I have the Alphas CT, and it will throw a 5g casting plug 40 m+ with 6lb Fireline Ultra on a TD Zero 681LFB rod rated for 3–10 gm (superseded model, but it colours match the Alphas ...

Re: 1000 size shimanos
I have Stradic 1000FKs and a Stella C2000S and there is no discernible difference in casting distance with braid. The 1000 size is great for a light estuary work and Australian bass.

Re: 2019 Daiwa Morethan PE 1000 TW
Why do some continue to call it a “spool tension” knob? It puts the spool shaft in compression! Cast control knob is a much better term. I don't use that stinking knob to control my casts. That's my side to side spool positioner. \:D/ Agreed, but "side to side spool positioner" might take...

They are simply great UL rods for the money. I have two and use them all the time.

Re: New 2019 Stella SW
The 8000 size now has a smaller rotor. This means the spools will not interchange between the 8000, 10000 and 14000 sizes. The 8000 size reel is for braided line only. It is not designed for use with mono line. Infinity Drive is a friction reducing design for the spool shaft. This eliminates the sp...

Re: Tsurinoya Proflex 2 Impression
I use this rod for 6lb fireline ultra and 10lb mono leader with no problem, just use the FG leader knot. Will cast a 1/8 jig + plastic grub 30m + using a Steez A with a 1012SV G1 or Megabass IS Finesse spool. This rod will handle good sized fish , biggest so far is a 90cm Australian flathead. The bu...

Re: ZPI M or 1012 g1
Comparing the ZPI M to the PG the PG is more a standard spool best for 1/4 oz and up. Great casting distance and spool control. The M spool feels like more of a semi-finesse spool. If you use light line it works great as a finesse spool. With regular line it feels best to me casting in the 3/8 oz a...

Re: Aerosal Spray for Cleaning Bearings
The Dremel option with the bearings spun in acetone is fast and highly efficient. I thank the original poster DougL58 every time I clean my bearings this way. Paslode electrical cleaner is a good alternative to acetone, but much more expensive. Note that acetone cannot be used with bearings that hav...

Re: Tsurinoya XF-50 Budget BFS Reel Teardown & Evaluation
Thanks for the very informative and factual evaluation. Some Chinese companies, such as Tsurinoya, are clearly starting to produce some decent gear at low prices. I have the Tsurinoya Proflex 2 C632UL rod for UL baitcasting work and rate it very highly. Nice action, excellent cork and Fuji reels sea...

Re: Double Dutch-Punch Drunk-Panty Danker
Careful tho. Deps makes great baits, but the rods are heavy and so-so... Have to disagree, at least for the Deps rod that I own. I have the Sidewinder Constrictor HGC-64XS/GP which has an XHeavy action and a slow taper that is an awesome rod for throwing 1/4-1 oz jerkbaits at barramundi. No bling, ...

Tsurinoya Proflex 2 C632UL rod for UL baitcasting work. Fuji reel seat and guides, as well as an excellent cork handle and crisp blank, all for 65USD. Throws the ultra light stuff really well.

Re: Best Japanese 8 strand or better braid.
Have tried the Silky in PE2 41lb, but it is not as smooth as the Gosen 16-strand 41 lb or the Sufix 13-strand 131 30lb.Rodster14 wrote:I really like the Hitena braid. I am slowing converting all my reels to that. So far, I only have the Supercast. I want o try the Silky.
