Hi folks Never started a new thread on tt before, so here goes. I’m currently glued to my smart tv watching the Shimano Calcutta conquest bfs in action, and I’m hooked. Now I’m saving my pennies and hopefully pull the trigger soon What I’m after is some insight into the reel from those who own it an...

daiwa black sheep upgrades

hi guys,

I have two daiwa black sheep reels, a 250 and a 300 and was looking at upgrading them. make them even cooler :)
I have already put in boca abec7 orange seals and changed out the drag for carbontex, but was wondering if anyone had any ideas for me or pics of what they have done?

thanks heaps

Re: Daiwa hrf

Turned out to be a slight excess of grease applied to the spring and kick lever

Disassembled, cleaned and lightly regreased, reassembled, perfect :)

Cheers

Re: Daiwa hrf

will definitely have a look at those parts for sure I'm sure those parts were reassembled correctly, but something may have happened I googled the symptoms, and some folks have mentioned that maybe the spring has weakened or there may be a little too much grease in that location. any thoughts or exp...

Daiwa hrf

Hi guys Just got a quick one I have just serviced a daiwa hrf for a guy and it all turned out well, reel performed well after the service. However, when it was fished, the reel would fail to kick into gear after every second or so cast. Not sure why this is happening, everything looks fine internall...

Re: New glx guides

Hi I use 80lb leader when chasing barramundi with large lures like the savage gear soft 4plays They normally get inhaled and the fish have very raspy mouths and sharp gill spikes that will slice through anything including your finger. They also tend to live in pretty snaggy areas, so its more for ab...

Re: If you could have only one reel...

I really do like the smaller size of the 200, though I still find the 400 very palmable

I really think my new calcutta 200d has taken top spot, though I've only had a few casts with it in the backyard.

New glx guides

Hi folks I'll admit, I'm more of an avid reader than a poster, but I have to ask, the guides on the new loomis glx baitcast rods, are they smaller in diameter like the nrx, or more the size of the old version? Im only asking as I was going to purchase an nrx but was told the guides would be too smal...
