There is a setting on the reel you can set it to that removed the wine if I recall. It hinders the casting distance ever so slightly but pretty sure the reel is silent. You can also cast it with zero thumb and it won’t backlash even when it hits the water.

Re: SLP Custom Body Zillion TW
A handle that is longer wouldn’t obtain great casting distance. It would have to be a spool mod, bearing mod, or something done internally. The star on that Zilly SLP is plastic. Unless you like the SLP badging or the matte black finish I would opt for a Zillion HD. More robust and capable and for t...

Re: All new steez sv tw
Looks like another reel I will pass on then. I too prefer to have control over the spool tension that actually helps tighten the tension or make it lose.

Re: All new steez sv tw
So to be certain I am understanding this correctly, the new Steez has a tension knob/cast control cap that cannot be physically moved or adjusted either way. It is literally stuck and fixed? I have newer Daiwa reels with the zero adjuster tension knob like the Zillion HD for example but it can still...

Re: Thoughts on high end bfs?
A few things at play here IMO. BFS is losely used term. To some guys what they are describing is mag fineesse or more or less ML powered rods. Others are true BFS limit pushers with Light and UL rods and some of the lightest baits they can cast. The complex part is the high end part. Why? Because th...

Re: Wanees decal kits
The decals may be good on those beater reels with paint chips and dings that look like they have been drug behind a car on a gravel road. A much cheaper alternative to a new paint job or cerakote.
Re: New GLX
to be honest, I kind of like how they went back to the classic black and gold colors. These were the colors of the GLX when it was first introduced. black blank, gold logo, gold trim. So original? Where is the creativity? Yet the price is even higher. You can have a custom built for a fraction of t...
Re: New GLX
Not even the least bit I nterested. These look very boring and modest. I thought the prior generations of GLX were dull but these take the take. I will just hold on to my prior years model

Re: Reel Dress Up Parts?
I have about 70 casting reels. Daiwa, MB, Shimano. All but a few are customized a great deal inside and out. You can get parts about anywhere for the new platforms but the older platforms are tricky. Sometimes i have bought parts from JapanTackle, HH Studios, Tackle Trap, Brooklyn Bills when it was ...

Re: TD-Z Owners Guild
No doubt about it. Often over looked by the newer platforms. This one has an Ian tuned TDZ 105 spool and 8# copoly. It checks all the boxes for me for medium(ish) moving baits. The spool has great control and distance for the few baits I have tested with it the one day this spring I have been able t...

Re: TD-Z Owners Guild
I love this platform and years ago I acquired a few 103H’s. Got out of fishing for a few years and getting back into it. Cleaned up this one, cleaned and flushed bearings, did a Carbontex upgrade, Zaion drag star and Tatula 90mm handle assembly with OG Zillion handle nut, blacked out HH studios ret...
