Re: Daiwa Japan's SS SV : A Steez in Disguise?
You guys got too much time on your hands to worry about this. Buy and try.... The same could be said for the Zillion TWS. It seems like there's a lot of negative comments from people that haven't used one though. They should buy and try. I'm looking forward to when I can get a new Steez SV plus a S...

Re: Product Insight : Zillion TWS a.k.a. Tatula Z?
When the Tatula first came out I thought Daiwa had apparently paid way too much attention to Shimano. It seemed very similar in design to the Shimano E reels. Then they cheapen the Zillion like Shimano did with the Chronarch. Shimano finally is building a more diverse line up. Now Daiwa is consolida...

Re: The Search For One : Guess Who's Back Building Rods?
Fair enough. I just feel it's a solution looking for a problem. I've never broken a fishing rod for any reason, so I don't see what gain there is. I guess it's similar to the left hand reel group. I reel left or right hand with no observed advantage or disadvantage in either. I guess that's a whole...

Re: The Search For One : Guess Who's Back Building Rods?
I guess maybe I'm the only one that thinks the spiral wrap could put more twisting stress on the blank. I was thinking the guides going around the side of the blank would be causing it to want to twist that direction. Then the guides on the bottom would be twisting it back the other way to straight...

Re: 2013 Bait-the-Finesse Finale : Daiwa T3 Air
Besides the price being more when the review was started than now (can be had a Plat for less than 500) is the fact that they deducted for being a dedicated finesse reel instead of a multi-tasker. Points were not deducted from the T3 Air's performance for not being a multi-tasker, rather points wer...

Re: 2013 Bait-the-Finesse Finale : Daiwa T3 Air
I was surprised that the BFS out casted the T3 with the same weight and that the T3 couldn't dip lower with such a light and shallow spool. Bring on that LTZ/LTX review! I'd like to see an ltz ae74 review. I'm curious how it does in comparison to the T3 air. It's another reel I've really been inter...

Re: 2013 Bait-the-Finesse Finale : Daiwa T3 Air
I'm planning on getting a T3 Air and building a 4'6" rod based on one of those MHX panfish and crappie blanks. I'm looking to fish for trout and panfish in some small streams that are only about 10 feet across in most spots. Should be a fun little setup and a good enough excuse to get one of th...

Well here's the video. I'm looking on my phone, so I might not be seeing right. Maybe someone else can get a better look.

Re: 2013 Bait-the-Finesse Finale : Daiwa T3 Air
I'm surprised about the need for a lot of thumbing. Unless I was looking wrong I saw a video on YouTube that a guy appeared to be casting a 3.8 gram lure with no thumb. The details said it was going 97 feet. I was under the understanding the sv spools used the same inductor as the air. One of the se...
