Re: Best Football Jig Rod Under $120
Now I have expanded my search to say $150 or under (with Black Friday Sales) ... A Powell Endurance 733 or 734 , maybe a iRod Genesis II (not sure the FB jig model ?) or the Uribe Riverside M2 $110) .

Best Football Jig Rod Under $120
Looking specifically for a football jig rod that won't break the bank - yet have good sensitivity with a good tip , plenty of backbone , nice feel and light weight (not asking for much here) to be used with 3/8th oz. and 1/2 oz. traditional light hook football jigs with craw trailers on #15 lb. FC l...

Re: Braid or FC for Drop Shot ?
As long as you maintain some semi - slack contact with your drop shot rig - is there any problem with feel / sensitivity using braid + a FC leader to detect the bite ?

Re: Braid or FC for Drop Shot ?

Re: Braid or FC for Drop Shot ?
My application is in a lake for drop shot with more of a semi - vertical / horizontal presentation casting out far in shallower water then working the rig back to me in short hops & pauses - then repeat the process . Again , I lake fish in shallow water with very little current (only a breeze to con...

Re: Best Spinning Reel Brand For Fluorocarbon ?
I may go to braid + FC leader yet ! ...On a shakyhead set up I think it would be fine . On my dedicated drop shot outfit - it's going to be straight #6lb. InvizX FC line (with KVD line treatment) on top of mono backing . I'm thinking that drop shot set up has got to work ! ...If by chance it doesn't...

Re: Best Spinning Reel Brand For Fluorocarbon ?
Thanks for the replies - I had generally heard Shimano had a good spinning reel line management system considered more friendly to FC line . Daiwa is said to have it's "twist buster" line twist reduction technology / ABS spool which also would be a plus for FC line users . Conversely , you don't hea...

Re: Braid + FC Leader Spinning Setup for Dropshot ?
More often than not - it appears that deeper water drop shotting lends itself to the braid + FC leader set up .
For shallow water with less line out would you be better off to stay with just straight FC 6lb line for drop shotting ?

Re: Braid + FC Leader Spinning Setup for Dropshot ?
If using a non - VMC dropshot hook , anyone advocate using a small (i.e. Spro) barrel swivel to prevent line twist ?

Braid + FC Leader Spinning Setup for Dropshot ?
For those of you who use Braid + FC Leader Spinning setup for drop shot - please explain your set up ? Never having done this setup with spinning before , my best educated guess would be : 10lb. Power Pro braid -> 6lb. FC leader (7ft.) tied to braid with crazy Alberto knot -> FC leader to top of VMC...
