Re: Your opinion about the Z2020 in 2023.

Thanks for the update...well, it doesn't sound like the line but rather the length of the rod and perhaps guide set up on the MC Volkey may have something to do with the tame casting characteristics of your Z. I'm not sure a 7'0" would provide the pendulum and launching leverage needed for good dis...

Re: Your opinion about the Z2020 in 2023.

No need for you to convince, nor should you feel stupid...details of the rod, reel, line, and lure being cast would help to illuminate both sides' input and assessments. I can say that with a 3/4-1 oz Excalibur lipless and the 7'11" Orochi XX Cyber Shootist and 15lb PLine CXX, which is by far not a...

Re: Your opinion about the Z2020 in 2023.

Overpowered brakes? You might have an issue with your reel if you feel that its overbraking. The spool inside these reels is very fast, and with the 3D braking its as fast as it gets. Check your spool and side plate bearings. You might have grease or high viscocity oil slowing you down. Hmmm....tha...

Re: Your opinion about the Z2020 in 2023.

It is a nice reel with impressive power in the retrieve, while still very smooth. I use mine for pike fishing with baits around 1-3oz. Casts good, but a little bit overpowered brake imho even on long cast mode with magforce 3D. To me it is a bit like the zillion-series. Great but without the magic. ...

Re: Gears for cv-z 103/Ringa/IZE Light/Monoblock etc?

I used to buy most of my spare parts from PLAT, but learned the hard way that they don't update availability daily and have a very limited stock. So my guess is that if SLP don't have it, neither does PLAT since that's where they buy their parts :)

Re: Gears for cv-z 103/Ringa/IZE Light/Monoblock etc?

Thanks!
Unfortuntely, looking at Daiwa JP repair site https://www.sl-planets.co.jp/shop/c/c1308/ It seems they are sold out. I am looking for left handed gear btw. So gears for the cv-z models are basically not available anymore?

Will any gear from any Alphas model work? Even the more recent -19 models?

Gears for cv-z 103/Ringa/IZE Light/Monoblock etc?

Been away from the JDM and tuning market for 10 years so my knowledge is not really up to date. Anyhow, I would need to swap out the main drive gear and pinion on a Bay Casting Special 103L and was wondering if the gears from a 2014 Millionaire 100L would fit? Tried looking around, but couldn't find...

Re: ambassadeur RCN 40 super tuning

Having supertuned a decent amount of ambassadeurs I have some advice for you: To begin with: I am sorry, but forget ever casting 1/16oz with a 40-size reel. But if you really want to take tuning to the max, go for it! I would advice you to get the new aluminum line guide which is about 1/4 as light ...

Re: New Aldebaran and Metanium DC small pics and specs

well those guys @http://tzlure.com/ [according to what I read] are guessing :-({|= =D> ], but we probably know now! Shimano Aldebaran is highly specialized in finesse fishing. Its ultra light weight and small palming body allow you delicate, soft presentation in tough conditions. CI4+ material is u...
