Re: Spinning reels

Consider looking at the JDM Daiwa Luvias LT, it's lighter than the Vanford and the build quality is noticeably better and the cost is roughly the same...

Re: New Luvias vs Certate

You made a great choice with the Certate, it's my favorite of the MQ reels. I have 3 Luvias, 4 Certates and a Luvias Airty. and a 2500 in each model and I would take the Certate over the Airty all day. FYI the JDM Luvias MQ is a steal for the money and I think got a black eye by a lot of internet he...

Re: Favorite Spinning Reel?

I have to give the Luvias MQ some credit, I was leery after ready some of the reviews but I took a chance on a LT-3000-XH and was very surprised and now I have a FC 2000-XH as well, I also have four Certate's and a Luvias Arity. The only knock on the Luvias is that it's made in China Vs the other t...

Re: Daiwa MQ LT 3000 vs Shimano Vanford c3000xg decision

FWIW, I think the line capacity on the Ballistic 2500 MQ is higher than the 3000 Vanford, and I agree the Daiwa's definitely feel more refined and solid. The Ballistic 3000 MQ shares the 4000 gearbox so it will be a strong reel!

Re: Daiwa Tatula 300/400 Review?

I have a 300 that I have been using for King Salmon and it been great reel, it has held up perfectly, the drag is one of the best I have ever used, it cast well and stays smooth under heavy loads. I wasn't super impressed with it while sitting on the couch but once I hit the water I was very impress...

Re: Favorite Spinning Reel?

I would seriously look at the deals Digitaka has on Diawa MQ's you can pick up the Luvias MQ for around $230. and the Certate's for around $300 with free shipping. The Certate and Luvias are amazing reels and for that money they are a no brainer for sure.

Re: Higher-end Tatula 200 Replacement

Back to the subject at hand, is a Tatula 300 considered higher end??? I would assume there are round reels that would fit the requirements. The Lexa has 9 bearings, not sure where, it is a full spool shaft with no dual pinion support, right? I wouldn't say the Tat. 300 is high end it feels industri...

Re: Stella 22

I don't know if Shimano is trying their best to release ugly reels, but this thing looks like a $250 reel, not a $750 one. This and the new Aldebaran are :| I agree, a lot of Shimano's reels are ugly now! the Vanford looks like a $40.00 Okuma and the Stradics look like all the other low end reels b...

Re: Daiwa 20 luvias

They have high quality felt washers and the drags are amazing just like the Certate's, for what it's worth I switched several of my Ci4+ and Sustain's over to Carbon Tex, and within the first year reinstalled the felt washers. I tried a number of high quality grease's with them but the Carbon washer...

Re: Looking at a Daiwa Certate LT 3000 or 4000

There are two different size 3000's the CXH (compact, 2500 body) and the XH (4000 Body), the XH is a heavy duty and a more powerful reel, it comes with a 5mm longer handle and larger knob. I have a 2500, 3000CXH and 4000, and use the 4000 the least it punches way above it's weight and just seams lik...

Re: So what is the point of the Micro Module Gears outside of marketing?

I purchased 4 Micro Module Gear reels and all of them let me down, I bought nothing but Shimano for well over twenty years but all of those reels gears became geary VERY quickly, I have not bought another Shimano, I have purchased a truck load of Diawa's since though! If nothing else Shimano encoura...

Re: Has the BG been replaced?

The BG has been a very successful reel for Daiwa! I think they are just having trouble filling orders, there's nothing as good in that price range!
