Re: Daiwa SS Air TW
Looks like they combined a steez air and steez sv tw. Nothing ground breaking here.

Re: Avail microcast spool
Stock spool will handle that weight range easily, no need for the avail spool.

Re: Steez CT with 700s Shallow Spool or Steez Air
Agree with everything ryan said. I have a ct and had a steez air. Steez ct is much smoother and drag clicker. I run the stock spool with 6-8lb fluoro. Its a great power bfs spool for 1/16-1/8oz plastics. I have an amo spool for 4lb line for trout/panfish. Ive thrown down to 1gram on that spool. Very...

Re: I don't use spinning gear at all. Do you?
All spinning gear was sold when i got into bfs. No more bail flipping and line management problems.
I keep one spinning setup down the shore for the surf.

Re: Bantam Rods...?
I think their nice rods but unnecessary in the shimano lineup. Fit and finish is comparable to the first gen expride. Slightly nicer blank. I had the 6'5L bfs model, pretty much identical to my 6'5L expride. Couldnt justify keeping it, my expride takes care of business. With an msrp not far off the ...

Re: What BFS reel to get?
Those are some slabs Gary
The steez air is an excellent caster but the lack of smoothness on retrieve is what turned me off.
The steez ct is the greatest bfs platform I’ve had the pleasure to use. The stock spool is very impressive and a $50 AliExpress spool turns it into a beast.

Re: BFS Rod Recommendation
If you decide you wanna jump up to a higher end rod, grab a Tenryu Rayz. Made in japan, ideal for panfish/trout. They offer a 5'3UL and 5'6L.

Re: Evergreen Stingray 66 - The forgotten rod
I always wanted one for the triggerless design and they can be found pretty cheap on the auctions. I went the fenwick route instead and havent looked back but occasionally get the urge to grab one, lol.

Re: Daiwa Alphas Air TW 2020
This is really interesting reel! But is it made with spacers? Frame is a little bit bigger than Steez Air, but that is OK I think. Is line guide further from spool in Alphas vs. Steez? Or is it just in casting position? Going off pictures and videos doesn’t look like it has spacers. I really hope i...

Re: Tackle Loss Support Group
My two stories are from when I got into fishing years ago. This was high end gear for me. Sitting down in my chair, just got my camo dobyns coalition rod. Mount my reel, stringing it up and lob 6 inches off the tip in the ceiling fan, lol. Never got to fish it. Did the $60 no questions asked warrant...
