To that particular scenario, yes...that completely off.
And that's the scenario to which I was referring in my response above.

Re: Line Diameter

If you think that line diameter is gonna 100% accurate through the whole entire spool, then you are a little off canter... got to factor in the winding, processing, etc. No possible way that a line that is "flexible" will retain 100% true. That's why we sample 5 different points in the fishin...

Re: What is your go-to Jackhammer/Cricket trailer?

Cal are you rigging that spicy beaver vertically or horizontally on the chatter? It's also become a go-to bait for me but moreso texas rigged or as a jig trailer. Haven't put it on a chatterbait yet. I'm not creative enough to rig it vertically   ... I just thread it on like you would a p...

Re: What is your go-to Jackhammer/Cricket trailer?

If you like to keep things in the family with the Cricket, the Rage Bug and Rage Swimmer (especially the swimmer) make really good trailers.

Otherwise, that Reaction Innovations Spicy Beaver continues to be a favorite of mine on any type of swimming jig vibrating or not.

Re: Deps Rods

I have one I brought back with me in 2013 when I was in Japan. It's a big bait stick, but I've only fished it a handful of times... it's heavy, rear handle is too short, and just wasn't comfortable to fish so I didn't use it long enough to write up and of course, other products kept leap frogging it...

What are the differences on these reels, mainly line capacity?
Did you read Zander's writeup of the SLX DC? He discusses the key differences between it and the Curado DC there: http://www.tackletour.com/reviewshimanoslxdcreel.html

I always order line based on diameter, not what they say the # test is.
That’s the way to do it... but unfortunately, as today’s review demonstrates, sometimes you can’t even rely on that info without measuring it for yourself 🤨

Is SpiderWire's Ultracast Ultra-Good?

Is SpiderWire's Ultracast Ultra-Good? http://www.tackletour.com/images20/featureban_spiderwireultracast.jpg Introduction: There are so many different fishing line products out there today, how does one ever decide which line to use when in the mood to try something new. Re: Line Diameter

So I feel the line diameter being smaller than the pound test is a disadvantage ... Line diameter is a measure in either inches or millimeters not strength. Strength is measured in pound test which represents the breaking strength of the line. So I think first, you need to get that straight in your...

Re: Line Diameter

I think you have it the other way around... US line manufacturers typically produce their line in diameters wider than advertised not smaller.

Re: Forward Leaning

Out of curiosity do you think companies troll sites like this to hear the pros and cons on there products ? I can't speak for other sites, but manufacturers definitely pay attention to TackleTour. Why do you think the manufacturer support forums came into existence? While only the Shimano forum see...

WisconsinHeat looking for Rec's on a BFS Reel

Hey guys... the following is a topic post from a new member, WisconsinHeat .
