Re: Conquest DC or...?

Where you get in trouble with that reel (at low settings) is trying to force a cast with more effort in an attempt to gain more distance. I find this is the case with a lot of reels these days. 👍 ...and I've always found the round reels classy. I'm a huge fan of round reels. The reason I asked if y...

Re: Conquest DC or...?

The Curado has a i-DC-4. Not sure the differences. Some would say not as advanced, I'd say just different. Distance with all the DC systems is relative, as with any braking system, to the ability of the caster. With all of them, if you set the DC brakes to minimum, you can get some bomb casts, but y...

Re: Conquest DC or...?

Do you have any experience with round reels at all?

On the JDM side of Shimano, the Scorpion DC through to the Antares DC now all have the same iDC-5 braking system so any differences in distance will be minimal.

New Swimbait Menu Page

Zander's been hard at work building a new menu page making it a bit easier to find our swimbait articles and reviews. You'll find it on top between "Lures" and "Lines" but here's the direct link... Hope it proves useful!

This stick is the best of both worlds... USDM but made by a Japanese manufacturer.

Re: Struggling on Which Reel

The Scorpion would scare me a bit on lighter rods not just because of its size, but the weight. I don't mind running a 7.8oz reel on heavy gear (deep cranking, 6 inch glidebaits etc.), but worming all day is much more fun with a smaller/lighter reel. Which is what took me so long to fish it enough ...

Re: Looking for a swim bait rod 2-5 oz

Would the Onager be able to throw something like a swaver 168 or would it be too much rod? The beauty of Megabass's current Destroyer rods is they have a 1, 2, 3 punch within the lineup. For the lighter swimbaits like an Swaver 168 you can use the Mark 48 or even the Bunker Buster. Neither are as s...

Since you have also reviewed the Onager and the Leviathan, I am wondering how you see these two Megabass rods. Just to be clear, the Leviathan I referred to above is the Omega Swimbait Heavy by Leviathan Rods reviewed here: http://www.tackletour.com/reviewleviathanomegasb8heavy.html The Megabass Or...
