SLX Question
Hello,
In terms of grip/palming the reel. Is the SLX 70 MGL smaller in size than the SLX XT?Also, are the spools between the SLX 70 MGL and the SLX XT interchangeable?
Any info is appreciated.
Thanks

Re: PG Gear Replacement Questions
The K and MGL Curado reels will not share components like the gears. Unfortunately there is no way to swap to a PG unless a PG version is developed. If my memory is correct the Engetsu uses slightly different tooling. However, I only deal with the North American model reels here in the US. I am not...

PG Gear Replacement Questions
1.Does anyone know if it would be possible to put the Curado 201k PG(5:0:1) gears into a Curado 151 MGL? 2.I also just picked up the 22 Engetsu BB 101PG, I did not realize the brakes were not adjustable, it looks as if the reel frame is very similar to an SLX , would it be possible to swap out the (...

Curado 151 Gear Question
Does anyone know if it would be possible to put the Curado 201k PG(5:0:1) gears into a Curado 151 MGL? Is this doable or am I dreaming? Thanks in advance for any information.

Re: 22 Engetsu BB Spool Question
Looks closest to an SLX. Make sure it has brakes. The Daiwa jigging reels don't. The old engetsu 100 did and is actually a great distance caster of 1/4-3/8 oz with braid. It has a heavy shallow spool that really rips. If you have never fished your stock spool you should give it a try with 20# braid...

22 Engetsu BB Spool Question
Hello, I'm looking to purchase the 22 Engetsu BB 101 PG, however the spool is super shallow. Does anyone know if the spool from a Curado 71 or a Curado 151 or some other Shimano spool with more line capacity would fit? I can't tell what frame they are using for this reel , I think it's a Curado, but...

Re: New Curado 70 mgl K
Not sure if this has been brought up already, any word on the Scorpion version of this reel. Will Shimano be producing a Scorpion 70 k?

Re: 17 Stile SS Question
It seems that spools that hold less line capacity are available(Shimano Stefano) , but the stock spool it comes with is as deep as it gets. Thank you all for the responses and the PMs.

Re: Engetsu BB100PG
I’ve used my Stile SS PG for cranking quite a bit, and it seems very similar. Plenty of cranking power in a small package, but not much line capacity so braid is a must. Braking is simple finesse style VBS which allow for some really free casting with heavier baits. It works great overall, but I’m ...

17 Stile SS Question
Hello I recently picked up the 17 Stile SS 151 PG for fishing crankbaits and really like it. I am using 10lb test fluorocarbon and find that the spool is not deep enough to hold that line for very long casts, I know I can switch to braid, but I rather stick with the fluorocarbon. Is there a deeper s...
