Re: Conquest uses
I have a 100HG, and it works well for so many techniques. I am in Australia so the fish and techniques are very differnt to most US styles of fishing, but I fish alot of fast moving soft plastics around pontoons (similar to what you call burning docks really) and find it great, I thought the drag wo...

I have both, the conquest is far smaller than the ryoga, as in not even close.silversix wrote:To anyone who've held both, which reel is/feels smaller (palm side), the ryoga1016 or the calcutta?

Re: Conquest 100hg came in (size comparison)
I have been contemplating getting a conquest. Is their any advantage to getting a round reel over a low profile reel or is it just personal preference? I've never fished with a round reel, lol Anyway, thanks for sharing a size comparison, I was wondering what size it was compared to a low profile r...

Re: Edge Rod
They are popular here in Australia, I have been fishing one for 6 months or so, they are pretty good. I have never fished a rod that is more sensitive, not saying one doesnt exist but I have never fished one. Saying that the styling isnt for everyone, and not everyone likes recoils, but they have th...

So small!
A little more drag and it would be my perfect reel, I guess thats why we have thumbs though.

Re: 2016 New Steez?
Daiwa, make a baby Z (Z1016) in 4 ratios (5, 6, 7, 8) and call it a day. No TWS please  I cant think of anything better, strange that the Z wasnt the hit it deserved to be, such good reels. Price and weight were probably 2 main reasons. Even those clamorimg for a new model now; would most lik...

I have a couple Valley Hill Buzztriks RB Packer's, pretty nice rods and good value for money, not the easiest to come by but might be worth your while checking them out.

Re: Traveling with Fishing Gear
I prefer to travel with multi piece rods so I can have them safely stored within my luggage. Im not sure what its like for you in the US but everywhere I have travelled it seems like if you give an airline something extra to take that is unusual they do everything in their power to lose or damage it...
