Re: Supertuning

I've wanted to hold off on baits and tackle long enough to buy a Dremel tool and do some polishing just like in that TT article about super tuning a Sol, but I haven't managed to do that yet. The guy polishes the end of the pinion and the clutch mechanism for smoother engagement, among other things...

Re: BFS and PowerPro

Just set the drag light. In reality, are you even gonna need a 8lb strength line? The purpose of braid is its "no stretch" an castability qualities. Dont pay no mind to the test rating, its all in the diameter.

Re: TD-Z drag issue

Sounds to me like you have something internally not set correctly. Maybe something that is riding on the crankshaft.

Re: parts for a daiwa td z/ito

You cant put a swept handle on a factory TDZ star, you will need to swap the star to a swept star as well.

Man, the way some people talk you'd think a fishing reel is about as complex as the James Webb Space Telescope.
It may just be a certain "person" that has the "complex".

Re: Roller clutch issues?

I think LMG felt sorry for him at one point and look where that got him... Yeah. Shame on me. Lesson learned. But, he s a professional! I'm just curious as to what point he finally gets canned off this site and moves on to another? Wonder if the mods are all on vacation? ](*,) The funny thing...

Re: Roller clutch issues?

You've just had a hard on to prove me wrong because the term grease was used in the same sentence as AR... Just to let you know what 00 NLGI grease consistency is like. Because your "greases ain't greases". Is that how you think? You way over value yourself there. This has nothing to do with you wh...

Re: Roller clutch issues?

This Corrosion X that I hear about often on here, to me seems like a penetrant/liquid grease to me. I used to use something similar to that on my BMX bike chains, and it was like a waxy/silicone type spray stuff. I wonder what is the makeup of it. Another thought: anyone try mixing a bit of grease a...

Re: Supertuning

I dont polish anything, unless its more of a "cleaning" off or corrosion of some sorts. No need to in todays reels. I know a few people that are still into polishing everything, but it may just be more of a personal preference thing. Kind of like tuning a reel with different bearings, or removing bu...
