Re: Best @ Cleaning/Tuning Shimano JDM Reels
Sounds like your spool bearings are shot or is there any build up of junk along the edge of the spool?

Re: Metanium MGL side plate
Bad comment on my part. I didn't think about how many people are rough on them or try and swindle companies for just being careless. I guarantee Daiwa would NOT replace a Steez sideplate. Wouldn't be much excuse either for dropping that one. Doesn't the newest Curado K sideplate stay attached? It d...

http://fish.shimano.com/content/sac-fish/en/home/products/info/news/shimano-curado-k-compared-to-curado-i.html Funny, no mention on here of the 70. The 70 is barely a year old, why would they update it so soon? My buddy's thoughts (he is a longtime bass guy and saltwater via boat only). 10% smaller...

Re: Curado 70/71 bearing upgrade?
Wow really? That makes it easy to buy, now I just have to buy 15.Thanks For example: http://ali.pub/1l9bf7 Or stainless steel hybrid ceramic ball bearing: http://ali.pub/1l9bjv Have you had good/decent luck with those cheaper bearings from Aliexpress? I'm ok in gambling on that price for some knob ...

Re: Curado 70/71 bearing upgrade?
Sorry for being a little off topic, but does anyone know if the Curado 70 compares to the Chronarch MGL in light lures? And if it cannot, does adding bearings help? I just never hear much of the Curado 70's BFS ability... BFS? I'm a salt water guy and I have throw 1/16 jig heads with small soft pla...

Re: Grease and oil preferences
Drag and frame bearings - Cal's drag grease Level wind - Abu Silicote Spool bearings - something light like Rocket fuel Never Hot Sauce!!!!!! :talk hand: Why not Hot Sauce? People hate it, they say it dries on bearings/parts and makes them sticky. I always had luck with it, but after reading, I qui...

Curado 70/71 bearing upgrade?
Has anyone taken apart a Curado 70/71 yet? I have not, but am looking at the schematics today, I wonder if PN BNT5334 can be replaced with a bushing.
Anyone know? Also what about the knobs, do those come off and can they be upgraded?
Thanks

Re: Shimano 2017 Icast rumor mill ...
So a Chronarch 200G? Interesting, wonder why they went so big. Deeper spool for saltwater use. Not needed anymore with braid. I wade fish in the salt and I have a lot of list of Curado/Chronarch (some JDM), and I find all of my older 100 or 200 haven't been used in a long time. Well the Ch101SF I u...

Re: Shimano 2017 Icast rumor mill ...
I saw a post today about the Ch G and asked Shimano on facebook about the size, 150. Well good for me, I don't want any more reels that size. I saltwater fish and the 70 is perfect for fishing with braid. So what rumors are y'all hearing about a new Curado? I'd be sorta surprised as the 70/71 aren't...

Re: Spool bearing maintenance
It also depends on what type of oil you put in your spool bearing, something really thin like Boca Lightning Oil or Yellow Rocket Fuel (FYI, Remoil is very similar to those and MUCH cheaper) or something thicker like Corrosion-X? The thinner oils can burn off during one trip. You can really hear it ...
