Re: ARK Fishing's Intriguing and Affordable Gravity BFS
I've heard good things about this reel and the Haibo Arise Air that is it's sister reel. The Arise Elite is another similar reel, but has a symmetric design and an aluminum instead of carbon frame.

I can't wait to get mine from TTT. I hope I actually get to go fishing a couple times this year.

Re: A Masterpiece - Shimano's Metanium MGL 150B Baitcaster
According to ReelTest on YT the Antares has the small side ports and the Met doesn't which is the reason for the weight difference. The brakes on the Met spool are a bit further away from the edge of the spool also. The Met actually casts slightly better even with the heavier spool. Could just be no...

Re: A Masterpiece - Shimano's Metanium MGL 150B Baitcaster
I think the Anteres spool is nearly identical except it has the additional side porting and different axle dimensions right? Probably not a big difference, but every little bit helps right, at least at the lower end. If you’re comparing the Antares to the JDM Metanium yes they’re almost identical, ...

Re: A Masterpiece - Shimano's Metanium MGL 150B Baitcaster
Imagine how amazing it would be with the ported spool and the line guide as far forward as it could have been. DaveJ If it's got a thiner spool and it has a shaped line guide which it has - shouldn't be too much of an issue for the line to peel off / swing side to side easily enough. The guide coul...

By all accounts I've seen, this reel is pretty awesome. Imagine how amazing it would be with the ported spool and the line guide as far forward as it could have been.

Re: Round Reel Refinement - The JDM Daiwa Millionaire CT SV70
Every once in a while I go to TW website, open up the Shimano casting reels, and just drool over the 50. At 7.5 oz, I could easily fish it all day. It looks like a finely engineered machine. My birthday's coming up in August (hint, hint). I didn't think Shimano made a 50 Conquest any more, just the...

Re: SOLID! - The Shimano Bantam MGL Baitcaster
Good write-up. Confirms what other posters and reviewers have been saying. I don't understand why they didn't put a bit more thought into the line guide. It appears to me that there is plenty of room where they could have designed the guide ring to be a good centimeter or 2 farther forward without c...

Re: The “Curado” Series extends to Bass Rods
For some reason, these rods just look "right" to me. Pretty much as classic as it comes with modern components. http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Shimano_Curado_Casting_Rods/descpage-CDC.html Ideal setup for value rods IMO. Has anyone fished them yet? How do they compare with 13 Omen's or Dai...

America's Best Selling Reel? http://tackletour.com/images17/featureban_zebco33.jpg Introduction: There is perhaps a no more iconic fishing reel than the spincast. This reel, targeted at the novice angler as a transitional tool between spinning and casting is the go to reel on a countless number of ...

Re: Fishing Drones Have Arrived: The Ludicrous PowerRay, a Fishing Drone that Uses Sonar and 4K Video to Catch Fish
Bottom line. How much? I would use something like this to explore underwater structure vs catching fish. Exactly. I would NEVER use it to present a lure, but it would be awesome to use it to explore structure or get awesome video of fish in their natural environment. That really depends on the qual...

I did a little research. It appears the blank is available in Elite Green or Extreme Blue. Was hoping for Raw Graphite.

Re: Is the Search Over? St. Croix's New Legend Elite EC70MF
Nice review. I'm not surprised by the results based on the components, price, and the user reviews that were posted for the new Elites. One correction, the spinning rods use the TVS seat. The casting rods have the Fuji PTS seat. I wonder if that blank is available raw for custom builders? I might ma...
