Re: No.8 Blackout sensitivity
Before I broke my 6''9MXF, I was throwing anything between 1/8 and grub for walleye to 1/2 texas rigs no problem at all. I wouldn't go lower, and I'm sure a little more than 1/2 will probably work too. I remember throwing pointers and staysees, but never tried with lighter jerks. A little stiff for...

Re: Daiwa Liberto Pixy
This is the best red one I can find. If anyone knows where I can find one better I'd appreciate it. Almost all my reels have a little rash so I could live with it as long as it gets the job done. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Daiwa-Liberto-PIXY-Airt-Red-Great-baitcasting-fishing-reel-1/262401026111?_trksi...

I was mainly looking at the red ones. That color just looks sexy to me lol.

Daiwa Liberto Pixy
It seems like these are around for $150 and I've hear a lot about them in the past. Are they a good buy for a finesse reel at this price?

pretty sweet deal, the minimum lure rating is what is making me wonder though.

megabass daiwa alphas ito 103
Is this reel any good for $160? I've never really been into daiwa or finesse casing reels, but I want one now and I'm trying to get one under $200. But the pickings are slim. So does anyone know anything about this reel?

Re: No.8 Blackout sensitivity
Okay so now I'm trying to decide between the 7' med/fast blackout and the 6'9 med/x-fast elite tech smallmouth. Both are about the same price. I'm gonna be throwing mainly weightless or lightweight plastics under 5/16 ounce. Also finesse jigs and maybe a jerkbait occasionally. Thoughts?

Re: No.8 Blackout sensitivity
Interesting. Would you say the sensitivity is on par with the omen? I just broke my 6'10 med. omen and I'm looking to replace it

No.8 Blackout sensitivity
I'm wondering if anyone here has some info on how sensitive the no.8 blackout rods are. I'm looking at getting the 7' med/fast and it may be used for contact baits at times. I have Omen black rods, is the sensitivity similar to those? If not can anyone recommend a 7' med/fast rod in the $100-$150 ra...

Powell max 703 glass
Looking for a little feedback on this rod. I'm thinking of getting one for shallow to mid depth cranks, topwaters, and the occasional jerkbait. I'm gonna do a lot more kayak fishing next year so I want a versatile rod. All presentations thrown on braid most of the time. Any feedback would be appreci...

rod for inshore and river stripers
I'm looking for suggestions on a casting rod for using rip baits and top waters, maybe a small swimbait too, for inshore and river stripers. I've been looking for a good rod around 7 feet in length with a mh power and a mod-fast action that can handle baits up to an ounce. And thoughts would be great.

Re: medium or medium-heavy? that is the question
I was leaning a little more towards the medium. Price wise I'm mostly looking in the $150-$200 range. But I'd probably spend more if I think the rod is the bees knees

medium or medium-heavy? that is the question
I'm thinking of getting a new rod mainly for picking apart sparse shoreline cover with weightless to lightweight plastics and finesse jigs. I may throw the occasional small spinnerbait on it as well. It'll be between 6'8 and 6'10 with 10 to 12 pound line. I just can't decide if I should go with a me...

Re: New fenwick Bass rods
I got one of the new bass rods after breaking my elite tech smallmouth. I got the 6'9 medium mod/fast spinning. It feels a little heavier than the smallmouth was, I had the 6'9 medium spinning. But still not a heavy rod by any means. It seems to be just as sensitive, maybe a little more so, than the...

Re: curado I vs curado e
I took mine out this afternoon in some windy conditions and really set out to dial the breaks in. After a little fiddling I was slinging into the wind no problem. Casting like a dream now. But I was noticing a slight knocking while reeling, usually when changing speed. Anyone else encounter this iss...
