Re: Reel for dx744
I'm also considering just going with a Lews TP1HSL. I have this reel on another rod of mine and love it. So if anyone has a Lews TP paired with their dx744 Im curious as to how it balances and feels?

Reel for dx744
Going to grab one of these rods tomorrow. I plan on throwing t rigs, buzz baits, senkos/ikas, & 1/4-1/2oz jigs. Right now I am trying to decide between the Tatula 100HSL and the new Curado I 201IHG . I can get a price match on the Tatula for 103 doll hairs. The Curado will be 20% off and come with a...

Did you tape the tube back together like that when you tried to ship it back, or did it come like that? Sorry dude!

zombie 7' spinning rod
I'm wondering if anyone owns one of these? I am looking for a new drop shot rod and I am wondering how well it would balance with a light weight reel like a pflueger patriarch and how you like the rod overall. I'm considering a couple other drop shot rods like the shimano cumara or megabass xx/x4 aa...

Re: Disappointed with my dx702 experience
Dobyns requested I send the rod back for a full refund but did not offer a replacement. Oh well, I'm going back to my other preferred manufacturers.

Re: Disappointed with my dx702 experience
You're not the only one in the boat with QC issues on your rods. There are a lot of pro staffers on pretty much all the fishing forums you can find, and it's a shame that rather than helping you find a solution to your problem they will just accuse you of bashing. I had the same experience with my ...

Re: Disappointed with my dx702 experience
I'm sure that the wraps on the tiptop on put on after it is glued on. If the threads on on top the metal, that means they wrapped onto the top of the tip top. I checked five rods that I have here at home including my DX02SF. On all of them, the actual ceramic ring is angled forward a little, not pe...

Re: Disappointed with my dx702 experience
I've experienced the same issue on two rods myself with the DR logo scrape off...both rods were prior to the tangle free guides and the new fish logo...the other imperfections drive me insane and are found on nearly all factory rods. I've spent a small fortune returning rods for these sloppy detail...

Disappointed with my dx702 experience
I ordered a DX 702 spinning rod after reading nothing but good things. This was not my first Dobyns as I own two of their Champion swimbait rods. Upon its arrival I was blown away by how this rod looked aesthetically and felt in my hand so I took it down to my local pond and caught a few fish. I was...

Florida Bass Fishing Trip
I'm trying to put together a 1 week trip out to Florida around the Daytona area. I will be visiting family there in March and figured I'm going to need to do some fishing. If any of you have made trips like this to Florida or live there I want to hear from you. I want to know if it's easy to rent a ...

How do you rig your umbrella!?
I have just started experimenting with the umbrella rig. I am targeting largemouth bass in Southern California (San Diego). After messing with a couple I ordered I am curious about a few things. I want to know: 1. what baits you use (size, company, color) 2. what jig heads you use (weight, color, st...

Re: Should I buy a daiwa z200HL?
I ordered it yesterday. Incase anyone else here is in the market for one of these reels they are on sale at tw. If you get 10% off on top of the sale price you can have it for 409 as well! Did a bit of research and I don't foresee any problems with this reel.

Re: Should I buy a daiwa z200HL?
I am not worried about the gear ratio for swimbaits. I do like palming my reels when possible. I was going to get this reel over the Zillion Type R because of the slower speed available in lefty and because from what I understand it balances best with the PV or the SRD. It's seemingly the one and on...
