Re: New 2016 Stradic CI4+ vs 2016 Vanquish thoughts?
Hey Cesar, I've seen many positive reviews from people who have fished the vanquish extensively and still love it. Shimano is one of the leading manufacturers when it comes to gears. With their cold forging technology, it'll last for years to come. I think the inital impressions still hold- the Stra...

Re: New 2016 Stradic CI4+ vs 2016 Vanquish thoughts?
Welcome to the forum! If money was not an issue, the vanquish is by far more refined. Smoother and lighter. I've got the new 4000 sized CI4+ and oddly, it's not as smooth as my old 5000FJ.. but to be fair, that older reel was polished and tuned. In terms of durability, both will take on anything tha...

Re: Mann's Reel N Shad
Yup, I tried it too and couldn't get any action without tipping the rod myself. Felt like reeling in a flat piece of plastic. Sometimes I wonder how some of these designs make it to the market.. if it's that bad, the company's reputation is directly affected. Don't know what they were thinking.

Re: Shimano Metanium MG7 V2 info?
I was able to get more info on this model. In Japan some of the better (or higher volume) dealers are allowed to create limited models. This particular reel has the two tone color on the body, silver drag star and stock handle with Yumeya knobs. Aside from the appearance and handle knobs, this reel...

Re: Carbon Fiber Handle breaking?
Yes, after a while at least on the ones i've seen they delaminate. Most CF handles are carbon sheets layered over one another. The biggest issue with the ones in the fishing market is that they are layered so that the design of the weave appears on the side of the handle (for aesthetics I assume. A...

Purple is certainly interesting, the gold & white is just classy. Love it!
Re: Ch50e
"most parts of CHRONARCH 50E, Curado 50E, and Scorpion XT1000 are interchangeable. However Core 50Mg is different from those types of reels. So the "Duralumin Clutch Lever - ALD" doesn't fit '10 Scorpion XT 1000." - Hedgehog Studio

Re: Daiwa Reel Covers
I use Daiwa's neoprone reel cover. A little pricey for a reel cover but it does its job and does it well. Great material and easy to put on/off. I've also bought Opass' reel cover and it has a 2nd velcro strap that goes on the bottom of the reel frame. In a way it's more secure but a little bit of a...

Re: Best Palming Reel?
I use both Daiwas and Shimanos and think the Shimano's 50E series is the most comfortable, palming reel. My CH50E had a little nice curve in the front that allows my pointer finger to grip the reel.

Solid paint job. I love the contrast from the hot red to the flat black on the star & handle.

I think the classic lines of the TDZ would really be complimented with a white pearl + clearcoat
