Re: 7’1” MedHvy. Valkyrie
If you want something close to the Otomat in the P5 lineup, the Dark Sleeper is worth a look.

Re: Megabass Otomat vs P5 Oneten Stick
The Oneten Stick would be a fine choice, but also look at the F5-68X The Blade if you want a little extra power.

Re: DAIWA ALPHAS AIR TW 20 PARTS
Is there a spool available to make this reel less bfs and a little more general duty?

Re: Daiwa Alphas Air TW 2020
Do they make a deeper spool option for these yet? Might be interesting as a more all-around use reel. Or would it need more than just a drop-in spool for that?

Re: Daiwa SS SV G1 spool vs. Daiwa Zillion SV TW G1 Spool
Appreciate the input, fellas. Not sure I want to go down the spool modification wormhole, but I do know the R+ spool in the Steez 103 is a little too unruly and inconsistent for me. I’m an average or maybe slightly above average caster and it seems I’ve gotten too used to the Tatula SV platform the ...

Daiwa SS SV G1 spool vs. Daiwa Zillion SV TW G1 Spool
Any major differences between these spools? Pros/cons? How do they react with Magforce V and Z in the older Steez platform? I’m going to get a Zillion G1 spool but noticed there’s also an SS SV spool and was curious about any major differences. Tried searching on here but there were too many results...

Re: P5 super destroyer
I don’t think it’s an apples to oranges comparison, more like Granny Smith to red delicious apples-to-apples comparison. One may be slightly sweeter than than the other. But, I haven’t actually fished either of them. You may want to try the Tachyon Shaft if you don’t mind it being 2” shorter. They’r...

Re: New Megabass Destroyers
OK, I have experience with both the FMJ (my favorite in the US lineup) and the P5 Tachyon Shaft. First off, they are very different. The TS is definitely a JDM taper. No surprise there. The FMJ is perhaps more powerful than it’s F6 rating, as it feels pretty stout until you fish with it and it just ...

Re: P5 super destroyer
I haven’t fished with any iteration of the Super Destroyer, but I’ve compared the Carbon Head and non-CH more recent versions to the P5 in hand, and in terms of power, action, and weight there are some slight differences. The P5 to me feels like it has just a very slightly deeper flex than previous ...

Daiwa T3 1016 Reels today...
I was curious, how are they holding up? Are folks still using theirs?
I had a T3 Ballistic for a very short period of time and feel like maybe I didn't give it a chance. For some reason I kinda want to get a 1016 or 1016 MX, but not sure it's worth it considering the reels that are available today.

Re: Jig/T-rig Rod
I just used a Braillist yesterday and it handled a lot of baits really well. I mostly had luck using a chatterbait, but I think it would handle jigs and plastics in the range you mentioned, especially if you're not in heavy cover. At 7'5" it is an inch longer than what you specified, though. I still...

I'll second what Gary said about Megabass customer service. I've only had to deal with them once in that capacity and it was friendly and easy.

Re: Jig/T-rig Rod
Go for the Perfect Pitch, but if you can upgrade to the Destroyer line, the FMJ is the best jig and bottom contact rod I've ever used. Get one from Gary/bronzefly!
