Anyone get their hands on any of these rods? The components and build quality look quite nice.

Re: Revo S Braking Issue
If it is the gen 3 with "pitch centrifugal braking" then 3 blocks are always on and the other 3 can be turned on or off. I could have picked up one of these cheap but this feature kept me from it Not quite how it works.. All 6 brakes can be in the on or off position. 3 brakes are stationary when ac...

Anyone get their hands on these yet? I must say I am intrigued by the microwave guides and the aesthetics are quite nice as well.

Re: Chronarch ci4+ vs lews team lite
Ended up biting the bullet. Got a pretty good deal on fleabay and it arrived yesterday. The reel does cast really nicely and reminds me of shimano VBS casting behavior. The external dial is more convenient though. I was throwing a 3/8 oz jig a solid 30 yds with half swing casts (trees were behind me...

Re: The biggest B.S. ever
Sorry but no matter what line or line combination you choose it should never yield to less than half of the other setup. That's has to be operator error. If you say it's a few feet less or easier to backlash then I could believe that. I'm going to have to agree. The difference in weight between a m...

Re: The biggest B.S. ever
What bait was it? Keep in mind that with heavier lures, a spool with more weight (mono backing rather than braid) will cast better/further, and the opposite is true with lighter lures. Aaron Martens seems use more finesse / lighter tactics so perhaps the braid backing helps him with those.

Re: Daiwa's Icast releases
I'm very skeptical... how can the new Steez retail for $200 less than the discontinued Steez EX if they're virtually identical as has been suggested here? That is a substantial price drop! Surely replacing the Magnesium (gear) sideplate with Zaion does not equate to a $200 reduction. What am I miss...

Re: Extra fast or fast?
Yes you should be fine with that set up as long as the rod is not too powerful for the size weights and baits you are using.

Re: Extra fast or fast?
I had that rod a year or so back and found the action to be a true extra fast. I personally am not a fan of extra fast action, but as long as you are not using braid you should be fine with Texas rigs. If you are using braid, there will be no give in either the rod or line, so you will miss the fish...

Re: Daiwa SV Spool Question
Follow up. Seems like the sv is a different system than others so its hard to believe it is all in an inter changeable spool alone. But then again based on posts it appears to be and changing is as simple as buying the sv spool and dropping it in. The sideplates in a magforce z / v and SV reel are ...

Re: Daiwa SV Spool Question
I will try to explain the mechanics and ideology of the SV spool. This may not be 100% accurate as I don't have an SV spool, but others can back me up. This is based on videos and postings on the manner in which the inductors moves. First, take a look at a standard spool used in any magforce v or z ...

Re: Daiwa's Icast releases
Thank you for clarifying the right/left concern. As for the Steez, I am only confused because TT states it is the imported SS SV rebranded as a Steez with 12 vs 8 bearings. To me it looks like a steez, but they held it and spoke to the Reps first hand. Let's hope it is a typo/mistake. The sideplate...
