Re: Custom Paints

Finished these up and fished them last week. First try at 3D scales look ok, but working on adding even more detail to each scale with more layering. https://i.postimg.cc/Hxb3GxYL/4-CEB6-C33-336-A-4-FEC-BD9-D-FB14-D2-B738-F4.png https://i.postimg.cc/YS58ygwV/47485-DDD-AD2-A-494-C-9-B88-8-D4-C6-A431-...

Re: Engetsu BB100PG

I’ve used my Stile SS PG for cranking quite a bit, and it seems very similar. Plenty of cranking power in a small package, but not much line capacity so braid is a must. Braking is simple finesse style VBS which allow for some really free casting with heavier baits. It works great overall, but I’m n...

Re: Gear Question

I put a lot of use on my Alde/7.7:1 combos, and they are as good as it gets in my hands. Super smooth, plenty of power, great durability. Throw topwater, bigger jerkbaits and jigs quite a bit, but love that setup for throwing chatterbaits. Normally throwing 1/2oz with a mix of burning and stop and g...

Re: Enough with the tackle. LETS SEE SOME FISH!

Are those big trout good eatin, or is that sacrilege? I always see the guys on TV giddy about keeping the small keepers for dinner. The smaller keepers taste much better than the bigger ones, and meat is a little tougher on the bigs. It’s ok to keep one, but most people don’t. I never keep trout si...

What is a total weight? Looks kinda bulky.
Look at that frame shot next to the Bantam, it’s tiny! Much more compact than the Met MGL too.

Re: JDM Shimano vs USDM Gloomis Comparisons

I have a 7’ M/Mf Ultima and 7’ M/f Conquest, and don’t feel a huge difference between the 2, way to close to call. Actions aren’t to far off, as I can throw cranks on the Conquest and jerkbaits on the Ultima no problem. Love the look of the Ultima over the Conquest, but with the lack of warranty(har...

Re: Enough with the tackle. LETS SEE SOME FISH!

Couple trophy speckled trout caught on a swimbait on the last 2 trips. Jackall Rhythm Wave has been catching some monsters! First fish went just under 8lbs, second was over 9 and measured 30 1/4”. https://i.postimg.cc/SK0QtHKg/2216279-A-E3-BE-4-E6-A-AA10-69-E1-C70-ADE6-B.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/k5x...

Re: Custom Paints

That is a really nice effect. How did you achieve it? Thanks Mark, can’t wait to put some finish on it and get to see that depth. Once the scale mesh is applied, spray multiple coats at an angle from front to back. This builds up paint along the back edge of each scale. Also makes a cool little col...

Re: Custom Paints

Trying some new things that have turned out pretty well. This was my first shot at 3D scales. Hate how PostImg messes up the picture quality though  . https://i.postimg.cc/2y4gzYM6/631-F5-C73-F8-FC-4707-963-A-2-BB5-A058-E13-B.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/5N5MJ5W3/E906456-E-23-BF-4-E37-867-C-1-C089...

Re: New Lure

Really nice! How long did it take you from making the master to being able to pour the resin? It was a process, but only took a couple days. Cure times are the only thing you will have to wait for, and the silicone cures pretty quickly. I made a mold around the clay master, and used that mold to ma...
