Re: Nrx 852c leader knot

Never had an issue with an Albright through those guides. Hate the guides though, and swap them out when I can.

Re: Kayak on Subaru Outback?

Been car topping my Predator PDL for a few years now, and it’s not bad at all....on a car. Couldn’t imagine trying to get it on top of my Tahoe. I use my beach cart upside down on the trunk to roll my kayak up on the roof rack. Could only do that on the hood of a SUV, but it would work I guess. If y...

Re: ZOOM!

Zoom makes some great, cheap baits(prices where they should be). Been around so long that they better work  Ultravibe Speed Worm! Florida staple in many tackle boxes. Buzz it on the surface over vegetation, weight it and swim it deeper/down grass edges, and can also fish it like a normal work o...

Re: JDM crank baits

Imakatsu, OSP, Megabass all make some really nice JDM baits. Lucky Craft and Jackall also make some nice baits that aren’t sold here.

Re: Enough with the tackle. LETS SEE SOME FISH!

!/16 oz jighead with what, a #2 hook ? in THOSE lips ??? Amazing. Well done =D> Thanks! The vacuum cleaners of the inshore world  It was definitely a tiny hook, probably 1/0 or so. I rarely fish plastics so I was unprepared and had to use what I had. Broke the hook off landing the 5th on...

Re: Micro Power Pole

I have a micro on my kayak. It’s something you don’t think is that important until you have it, and then you can’t fish without it. Reliability has been decent, I have gotten around 2 years out of one before it breaks and their great customer service sends me a new one. That’s well over 400 trips wi...

Re: Custom Paints

A few more recent big trout catches on my painted baits. These were all sightfished, no better way to see how’s fish reacts to a color/lure. My Natural Ayu pattern has been killing it lately! https://i.postimg.cc/8sgkhR55/8749-A090-A651-440-A-8-D8-B-BADAA3-A6882-D.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/SRMN2Tm3/D...

Re: Enough with the tackle. LETS SEE SOME FISH!

Big Black Drum have moved up and started tailing on the rock piles. I don’t normally fish for them, but sightfishing giants like this can be fun. 1/16oz jig with 3” swimbait on my 843c Conquest/Stile SS put the heat on them. It’s fun to see how many times you can turn them when they get moving ...

Post in the kayak section, should get a lot more replies. Wish I had an answer but I’m using a pedal drive. Good luck!

Re: Lets hear about your saltwater enthusiast tackle

I don’t bring many combos when inshore fishing, so I like to keep it versatile. Always loved Loomis MBR rods, and the Conquests(I guess they would be enthusiast) have been amazing in my hands. I use 2 842c and 1 843c on my daily trips, with Stile SS reels. I don’t like to spend a lot on Inshore reel...

Re: Titanium Framed reels?

Titanium simply seems unnecessary. Maybe for offshore tuna fishing or something, but not bass fishing. As for the T3, it just wasn’t a very good real because of all the problems. Breaking hoods off is a pretty big problem, kind of need that. I’ve punched with a CI4 many times, not something I would ...

Re: 2020 Zodias rod with carbon monocoque grip

Not sure about the way others hold a rod, but I often hold it with my forearm touching the blank between split grips. Bites are electric all the way up the arm and literally feels like someone punched me in the shoulder when using my split Conquests. I can see this increasing sensitivity for sure.

Re: Titanium Framed reels?

Titanium reels for bass fishing? Prices are already going through the roof on anything fishing related, so let’s make reels out of a more expensive material that doesn’t improve anything  There’s a reason they went to carbon, cost. Aluminum keeps getting more expensive for the raw materi...
