Steez A vs Shimano Bantam

Looking for a heavier reel to balance with a flipping stick. Of the two options, which one and why? I prefer Daiwa braking but the new Shimanos are good too. Have the new aldebaran and Curado. Just looking for ideas.

Re: St. Croix stagnating?

Before I pass judgement, I really like to spend time on the water with new tackle. any idea when that will happen? i think it's safe to say that a lot of people here trust your judgment and opinion :big grin: Thank you, I very much appreciate that. I hope it will be soon on fishing them. Supplies a...

Re: Daiwa SV103 or 50th Anniversary opinions

Agreed. Of the OG Zillions, it would be jdream/IP, JDM 50th, USDM 50th, HLC and then the standard Zillions. I have an SV103 on a 777 Record Breaker and it is great for pitching and flipping and applications that don't require ultra long casts. You can also get a PE spool for the OG Zillion platform...

Re: Loomis Bassmaster Classic Releases?

Nothing released. I got to hold the conquest which was impressive. The Poison Adrena was there and a lot of emphasis put on that. One particular booth had the conquest for less than 450

Re: Jig Rod Recomendation

Thanks for all the help and recommendations guys I really appreciate all the feed back/input: I fish with 30lb braid to a 20lb fluoro leader most of the time because I'm targeting structure and in a tournament situation I don't have time to re-tie and don't want to risk breaking off a fish. I am a ...

Re: Jig Rod Recomendation

Go to jig rod is still the Dobyns DX744. That is number one. My number 2 is the Edge Black Widow 704.

Just like everyone said: 7' or longer, I consider both of those MH action with a FAST tip. I only use Flouro if I am fishing a jig.

Flipping is a whole different deal down here.

Are you referring to their world class or the Abu Garcia Fanstasista?

Re: Looking to upgrade gears in a PIXY Liberto

You still got that thing huh? Yes sir I do. I mean it doesn't get much use due to the speed, but I think if I put faster gears in it, it will be a Ned Rig Beast! I am all about using baitcasters where I can. I want a Senko rig too, so don't know which way I will go. Honestly, they just don't make r...

Looking to upgrade gears in a PIXY Liberto

Who would carry them? Wanting to go up to a high speed reel to use for a Ned variant type bait or wacky worm. I currently use my PX-R for my ned rig, so can I use the same gearing in the liberto? If so, I know tackletrap sells that, but I wanted to be sure before ordering.

G-Rod Pro Bass Experience?

I know TT did the review, but I wanted to know what the end users think of the graphene technology? Is it worth the hype or just another dud? How does the sensitivity compare to some of the heavy hitters? I have some money and may buy a new rod. I have been looking at G-rods for a bit, but I may sav...

Re: Bantam MGL Who has their hands on one?

I would like one of these myself, but I will have to be patient. I like the idea of the solid feel for my cranks. Shimano is definitely bringing their A game with some of the newer releases.

Re: Shimano Loomis Conquest rods

I think I would like to try one of these some day. I mean sensitivity is a relative term in my eyes. I have fished custom rods with K2 blanks and did find them very sensitive, but not that much more than lets say a Dobyns DX. I prefer some backbone and strength with my rods which Shimano seemed to d...

Re: What rods do you thinks we'll see debut at the Classic?

Do we think Shimano will bring the Ultima over? Wouldn't that take away from the Conquest? They are describing it as their most advanced rod ever, so why bring over competition to challenge it within their own organization? That would be like Chevy making a car to compete against the Vette.
