Re: What’s up with Kistler rods??
Eh, they are ridiculous with their pricing. Everything is so over priced. Then they occasionally have "BIG" sales to bring them down to a decent price. They've been so up and down the last few years changing around blanks, then raising prices, then changing the list price because it was too high. I...

Re: 2024 Metanium DC
After checking Digitaka every day for the past few wks, they finally got some stock. Not many left now even after ONE day, picked up the Xg for $365. Will be selling another ‘20 Metanium, so not a bad price after that

What’s up with Kistler rods??
Haven’t been on their site in years. Just happened to see all their rods are on discount & the Z-bone is less than $350, which I think is a steal. I’ve always thought they were 2nd to the Nrx but above the daiwa Steez in sensitivity/lightweight, I’ve had & fished all 3. Currently have all NRX+ model...

Re: All new steez sv tw
Reel came in today, it amazes me how my reels from Japan gets here faster than my TW orders. Reel is definitely in a diff class than my jdm Metaniums. As far as floro, 12lb test is the highest I’d go for any kind of casting applications. I’m perfectly fine with the handle size, as this is more a fin...

Re: All new steez sv tw
Received mine a few days ago from Digitaka, opening it up last night and first thing I noticed was that this reel is super comfortable to palm. The retrieve is glass smooth and airy, I like the looks and wouldn’t mind having another lol. I did spool it up with 20lb braid and it holds plenty of line...

Re: All new steez sv tw
I’ve had a few Steez reels back in the day, always thought they were overpriced, went strictly jdm Metaniums, best reel for the money. Finished 2nd in a bfl a few wks ago & figure I’d buy something nice. Was waiting on the Metanium DC, but I think that’s another month away. There’s plenty of the new...

Re: Looking for a slightly more powerful and versatile rod than the NRX+893c
NRX873CRR+ is a no brainer, I have 2 of em. If you don’t want to downgrade in sensitivity, definitely skip ANY Dobyns. Been there, done that

Re: New Steez A II vs High End Shimano’s
If tried the high end DC reels, a few Steez, some high end Abu reels and the new Zillions BUT at the end of the day, the jdm Metanium reels around $250ish was a no brainer. I kinda sucks using the same reels all the time but “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” really applies to the Metaniums. I’ve fis...

Re: Nrx bladed jig rod as a dedicated FLUKE rod?
There’s a major fishing company that sends out “membership deals” if you are signed up to their mailing list. Most times it’s either Loomis or Daiwa at 30% off & code usually only last a wkend. Haven’t gotten any emails this yr, but I’m going to pick up that chatterbait rod when I do. I’ve gotten al...

Re: Bottom Contact Rod!
The Nrx 894c+ is probably the rod u want. Mine’s usually have a 3/4 Carolina Rig in summer, then 3/4 fb jig in winter. 1/2oz is probably the lowest I’ve went on that rod, I think 3/4 is the sweet spot. The Metanium 2020 pairs with it pretty good also. SKIP the any of the Dobyns, speaking from experi...

New Metanium??
Was on Digitaka website and noticed a Metanium 100 under Shimano reels with “New” labeled. The pic looks like the old 2020 Metanium. It’s called Metanium 100 ‘23, hg & xg models. Spool “kinda” looks deeper. Thing is the price is 48,000 yen, which is wayyyy more than the Metanium DC 🤔. I heard there ...

Nrx bladed jig rod as a dedicated FLUKE rod?
1st Gen Poison Adrena 7’2m broke last year, so I’m looking for a new fluke rod now. Ended up using the Nrx 893 for a 2day bfl last minute, had good distance & hookup ratio but twitching that long of a rod didn’t feel the best. Ended up fishing with a fluke “guru” at the Regionals & he swore bout a s...

Re: Looking for upgrade from Dobyns 742c HP
This rod has been in my rotation for years because I love the power, length, and action for the way I use 1/2 oz vaults and overrides. What I don't like is the lack of sensitivity when fishing something like a Shakey head, nor the slow, sloppy recovery when twitching a lightish topwater walker afte...

Re: NRX users…what’s your top three (or four) rods in the lineup?
you saw many people mentioned the 873CRR. I know a ton of folk who love that rod, and I don't think any of them use it as a carolina rig rod. It's a great jig rod to 3/4 ounce. It also cranks those swim baits and chatter baits along in the thick stuff. Even good for vertical approaches with lighter...
