Re: Rays studio inductor plus a type r inductor spring on sv spool

My coastal sv was lacking a bit in the casting dept so this past weekend I decided to swap in a rays studio inductor and a type r inductor spring. I fished with the reel Thursday, man what a difference. This thing will bomb baits now, but I will say if you don't plan on adjusting the spool, it will...

Re: Rays studio inductor plus a type r inductor spring on sv spool

Its the ventilated tapered inductor, I didn't try just the spring, the both came on the same day so I put both in.

Re: Question for Catalina TW owners

I prefer my Catalina s to my zillion tws, now granted my tws is 9.1 and my Catalina s are 7.3, if I remember right the Catalina has aluminum side plates whereas the tws is zaion. The Catalina I use in the salt has been a little finicky with fluorocarbon but that appears to have been a one time deal....

If you pay the shipping I'll send you a set for free, I didn't care for them.

Re: Sealing the cork

Thanks y'all, I've used the golden oak as filler for damaged cork so I think I still have some left.

Re: Sealing the cork

As soon as I figure out what I did or my wife did with the jar of u40 I'm going to seal some of my cork handles, any recommendations on what I should clean the cork with before the u40, all of these rods have a couple years of use on them.

Tatulas don't go away.
Legends never die, kid

That's why it looks like I'll be looking for another OG zillion instead of buying a new reel

Re: 110-120mm Handle Options

Japan tackle has some avail handles at the top of your price range, Amazon sells monkey jack handles and they're about 20 bucks.

Re: ZOOM!

Hard to beat the trickworms, I only bought 2 packs of znails in my life and I wish now I bought more. My set up for weightless trick worms is a stradic fl on a klx mh kayak special rod. I had a custom ml xf rod built but I miss way fewer fish on the mh. I like Zoom brushhogs too, especially in ponds...

I unfortunately used my last znail this weekend, the reaction innovation pocket rockets looked pretty good this weekend as well but I never caught anything with them.

Re: Braid causing gear wear?

I have not fished with it, just played in the yard with it, I'll fish with it next week. It's not that wild but I also actually adjust the spool tension I don't use the zero adjuster as it's set. I have a feeling it would be a bit wild if it wasn't adjusted.

Re: Braid causing gear wear?

You went Type R instead of HLC? That sounds about right. My Ray's Long Cast for old Tatula is similar to a Type R spring in stiffness. An HLC spring is really really stiff. I did type r because that's what the tackle trap had, it has a type r spring and a rays studio inductor now. I may stick a hlc...
