Re: Disappointed

Sorry for the confusion . The 2 new rods are the spinning and casting Legend X Series . Supposed to be same as Legend Elite with different handle. I'll give more feedback as I have a chance to fish them over next week but when I read Zander's review of the legend Elite one of the best reviews I've s...

Re: Disappointed

Maybe I have reached a point of diminishing returns in that I have enough high end rods that there is not a wow factor still out there. I have and NRX and Daiwa Steez 76MML- and a Daiwa Steez 71MHXF-AGS which is not much compare to some of you collectors but these would be considered close to flag s...

Disappointed

I just upgraded a St. Croix to XLC70MF Legend Elite Extreme after reading the reviews on the legend elite . Went with the extreme thinking I would like the handle better. Tied on a jig today and was NOT impressed. Sensitivity felt mushy and not near as crisp as I was expecting. Granted it was a shor...

Re: dock shooting rod

I probably should have mentioned that in my experimentation one of the things I've found is that shorter rods 5'6" - 6' seem to be more versatile and easier to use when maneuvering boat trying to get in small places especially if there is any wind. One of the problems I've run into is finding a 5'6"...

dock shooting rod

I'm looking for the ultimate dock shooting rod. I've tried 25-30 different rods and still haven't found " the one " . Probably my favorite I have is a 6'6" outdoor norseman. It shoots good but is a little too long and their shorter rods 6' doesn't have the same action. I'm an enthusiast so money is ...

Re: best dock shooting rod

Guess the perfect rod has enough backbone towards the tip to shoot the jig when slingshotting , extremly sensitive to detect light bites but yet still enough flexibilty to make it fun to fight crappie. If this makes sense. A pretty decent one is St. Croix trout or panfish series in a 5'6" or 6' . On...

best dock shooting rod

I am an enthusiast who loves shooting docks. What rod do you guys think works best if money is no object. I have tried 20+ rods and am still looking for the one. Anyone have any expierance with phenix elixr as am considering ordering one of those. I just hate ordering high end rods without being abl...
