Re: Old 18 rods?
They are not making their own blanks and wouldn’t say which ones they’re using. When a rod builder gets evasive on that question I hesitate to trust their products. Just my two cents. Rx angler on YouTube loves them!

Newbie question (sorry in advance)
Good evening, Hope everyone is safe during these scary times! So I've been purchasing shallow spools for my reels. I've been popping them in and using them. Question: do I have to change the reel's bearings upon changing the spool? What are the pros and cons of keeping the stock bearings vis a vis c...

That SUL Tsurinoya you feature in your videos (always an great job by the way) seems pretty sick but I can't seem to find it. I think it was discontinued.

Super Ultralight/ Extra Ultralight Blanks
Good afternoon, Hope everyone is doing well. I've done some perusing on my own but it has been unfruitful. I'm looking for a blank that will do 0.1 grams to about 3 or 4 grams. I know there are some rods you can buy pre built with those ratings but I've yet to find any blanks to have one custom buil...

Aldebaran 30 MGL
Good evening all,
I am attempting to obtain a shallow/honeycomb/ microcast spool for this little reel. It would need to have the svs brakes. I can't seem to find one anywhere.
Thanks in advance

Re: Rod recs for some reels
I have no idea why I enjoy new high end gear so much but I sure do. I'm excited to try this new reel. Thinking I'll spool up with nanofil. What do yall think?

Rod recs for some reels
I found two reels in my storage unit. And rather than sell them I'd rather scour the internet for new rods. One is a shimano saros 1000 & a shimano sahara 750. This is my spinning L/UL rod collection at the moment: 1) st croix premier UL 6ft 6 2) gloomis IMX UL 6ft 6 3) st croix panfish 6ft 9 UL 4) ...

Re: Line for BFS
I have benn using 4 and 6lb Nanofil on at least one of my BFS outfits for about a year now. I like it. I wrote a little about it in this reel review...... http://www.tackletour.net/viewtopic.php?f=55&t=82570 Interesting. I have read repeatedly that nanofil is awful for baitcasters. How are the back...

Re: Line for BFS
Interestingly, BFS reels were originally designed in order to be able to use 8-10lb FC to pitch finesse jigs. I've used both braid and FC, for jigs etc FC is my preference. My understanding is that most risky to spools is a lot of light mono or FC wound on tight. Braid fine so long as you are not t...
