Re: Reviews out on new 2018 Ryoga?
What do you think BARRAMANIAC. The larger one for trolling for barras? I am not sold on the micro gears. I am a fitter machinist by trade and deal with industrial gearboxes. Having smaller profile gears with small contact area isn't good for high power. And ryoga has always been a power reel. My 10...

Re: Reviews out on new 2018 Ryoga?
Are there any links out there showing the 1016 and 1520 side by side for a size comparison. Now that we know the 1016 is roughly the same as a Conquest 200.

Re: Mostly rounders
Those new Hedgehog clutch bars are very comfortable to use. They are wider and lower and makes casting so much easier.
No need to worry about the grip when they are wet as the action is so much smoother and force required to depress it is much less now

Re: Daiwa 3D brake system
I have broken the hood and the reel seat support on my T3. Love the reel but not the composites.
I have a Mx as well but have fallen in love with the new Conquest 101.

Function before form.
I have a 3000 and 4000 size. Use them in saltwater and have not had a problem with them yet. A lot smoother than the FE and the drags are ever so smooth.

Re: T3 vs Tatula
I'm actually looking at the T3 sv 8.1. As far as workhorse reels go I've already got a Z. I like the T3 mx as well. The sale on tacklewarehouse is tempting to get the ballistic or 1016. Thanks again. I have exactly the same reel. I found it great fun and powerful enough for even medsized squarebill...
