Re: Fenwick is Back! A First Look at the Completely Refreshed Lineup from Eagle to World Class

so way back in 1997 my first high end rod was a Fenwick CoFi 57 rod, which was a made in the USA rod along with their Techna AV rods. It was $192 Canadian which at the time was a lot for a rod. Fenwick released these two rods as sort of their 'come back' models I believe that were made in the USA a...

Maybe there is a good reason, but I don't understand why they don't just sell the JDM models in the US.
Tiemco basically uses the Fenwick name to make rods for the Japanese market...at least I heard.

That would make for some distributor issues.

Re: Shimano Aldebaran BFS XG Limited ci4

Looking for my first BFS reel for ned rigging pretty good sized largemouth bass. Would this reel be recommended for that? I would also agree to go with the newer model. I will say though that the Aldebaran (probably the older one mentioned too) is more capable of much lighter lures than mentioned. ...

I'd go with the current model. Handles wind much better and casts great.

Re: A Stick That's Difficult to Pin Down : Megabass's US Destroyer P5 F7-75X BMG

Would you put this rod into some lighter flipping/pitching scenarios? I have been on the constant search for a "punch" rod for way up north. I don't get thick mats, as most of my targets are lilypads mixed with milfoil. I have the 7'10 Kister M.O.D with NFC blank (post MJD version). It fee...

Re: JDM Calcutta Conquest for Finesse - The Calcutta Conquest BFS

I've been using the 8.9 ratio aldebaran pretty regularly since they came out (right hand) and the gears have stayed out of the box butter smooth so far. I would only imagine putting them in a conquest frame and having absolutely no flex would only enhance longevity. My Aldebaran BFS XG had been smo...

Re: JDM Calcutta Conquest for Finesse - The Calcutta Conquest BFS

Only negative about it is the line capacity if your using flouro, imo it would be better with a similar capacity at the Millionaire CT SV. For most finesse FC fishing, this line capacity should be good. I have been using 7lb FC on similar capacity reels and have been fine casting ned rigs and light...

These reviews have to be pure gold for swimbait anglers. Makes investing in such usually expensive baits much easier with the write ups you guys do on them. Shoot...I may even sling one around someday

Re: Could It Be Magic? Megabass's US P5 F5.5-76X Mark-56

How would you rate this rod for flipping/punching? Handle length of 13" isn't too bad for a flipping rod.

I have the Kistler MOD 7'10 (after Mark Daniels Jr left). I like it but, always on the lookout for something new :big grin:

It was fun writing the article. Probably my most used Daiwa baitcasting reel this year.
Excellent job brother, thanks for putting the work in.
Thanks man. The Silver Creek will be getting more works here soon.

I have been waiting for this article to drop. It was nice to see your opinion on the Gekkabijin. I have been using it since October and have put it toward the top of my BFS preference.
