Re: Your most versatile rod?
For versatility, I like my X4 Rattle Viper F3-68X4 as I fish a lot of walking baits, cranks and weightless plastics locally, as well as for smallies in creeks. I caught a 10lb channel cat a few weeks back on a weightless 2.2 Shizumi Mushi on this rod. If I know the techniques will be heavier, spinn...

Re: Good Mono???
I know it's an older thread, but I despise Super Natural. I was using 10lb to cast 1/8oz shakyheads and what not. It was breaking mid cast, down at the first guide above the reel. It was breaking on hooksets with my PX68 drag set loose and a Megabass Rattle Viper, so it wasn't overpowered. I will n...

Re: Compact Spinnerbaits for smallies
Honestly, in my neck of the woods, where we fish for smallies, either lake or Ozark rivers, a compact frame is not an issue. I tend to use either a TBC Ozark Flash or a Megabass SV3. In rivers, I prefer double willow, due to the colorado/willow wanting to rise too much for me. I throw weights from 1...

Re: Shimano says no to nylon on CC BFS and Aldebaran BFS?
In a similar vein, Daiwa says no braid on their AIR spools so, since I use don't use a ton of topwater BFS, I have 7# Daiwa Samurai fluoro on my Alphas AIR 7.2. I've considered grabbing some 6# Super Natural mono, but fluoro handles so well.

Hyuga 6'4" L
I just bought one, does anyone use one and how do you have it set up? I'm thinking my PX68 and 8lb Sunline Super Natural for small hardbaits and 2-3.5g jigs. What do you use on yours and do you guys have any fish pics from usage?

Re: PX68R uses
Well, I just spooled it with 6lb Hybrid. It'll go fishing tomorrow probably. Thinking it will make a great popper, jerkbait and small topwater reel. I'm thinking anything from a Pop X to a Raid Level Minnow and Giant Dog X.

This is what I will be using it for most likely.hoohoorjoo wrote: ↑Sat May 20, 2023 7:19 amI'm with Mark, I loved it for 1/4 to 1/2 oz with 20# Berkley X9.Hogsticker2 wrote: ↑Fri May 19, 2023 7:58 pmI didn't really find it all that great for finesse myself. Quarter ounce on up to 5/8 oz seemed to be it's wheel house in stock form.

Re: PX68R uses
I have an omega modded red+yellow pixy mix, not the PX68. Usually using it with 15lb Berkley X9, which is good for pretty much any light duty. My fav setup for walleye and jerkbaits. I've been running some 20lb Smackdown on an Alphas CT SV and don't mind it. It's been pretty nice to use. I use a le...

I also have a 7'6 L Kuying Leadership that I have an Alphas CT SV 7.2 on with 8lb Seaguar R18 on. This is my small jig/plastics rod.

Re: PX68R uses
I don't have one anymore but, It is a pretty versatile finesse reel. Does anything from finesse soft plastics up to small squarebills. The PX68 does have a better drag than the original Pixy so, no need to upgrade that. I was thinking about putting it on my Tatula Elite 6'9 ML with 6lb Hybrid for t...

PX68R uses
I just bought a lightly used PX68R with Hedgehog Air bearings and was wondering what you all use your PX68 for.
