Re: Zillion HLC drag slipping
Correct. It’s clamped all the way down and slips. I can understand some slippage but it’s quite noticeable. I should specify, cleaned/lubed is the yearly cleaning I send it in for. Definitely not the workmanship cause my reel guy is awesome!

Zillion HLC drag slipping
The drag slips during hook sets and while fighting the fish. It has a Carbontex set and swapped to 8.1 gears. It’s smooth but lost a couple fish because it slipped on the hook set. Any ideas on how I can fix/improve the drag? It was cleaned/lubed when the Carbontex and new gears were installed. I ru...

Re: Googan Squad makes the best rods
Its not about fishing anymore with that group. It’s about acting like a jerk because there’s a camera on them. Throwin a fit when things aren’t going their way. All of that sends a message to their younger generation fans saying it’s ok to “sneak” into private property to fish. It’s ok to do this an...

Re: TD-Z Spool Options
I’ll have Trey check it out when I send it to him. Kept the stock spool in there and have been using it all season. Still so smooth for an OG reel.

Re: TD-Z Spool Options
The 1016 was weird for me. Bought it for a TDZ103ML I got from Japan and it sucked. Casts were worse than stock. Like it would just hit a wall and stop. Thought it was a bad spool or something. Swapped it into another TDZ I had and it’s awesome. Zings 3/8oz chatterbaits far. Don’t know what it is bu...

Re: Zillion HLC... the neglected child
Well I remember now why I bought this thing in the first place. I was throwing 1/2oz lipless crank baits on the river and it sings. Nice whizz sound. a faster set of gears and it’s a frogging machine! What gear set fits and where can I get it? The Trap?

Who makes this storage box?
I saw this on Youtube. Josh Douglas uses this to store nail weights/o rings. Pretty slick. Anybody knows who makes it? It was a Scheels video and I checked there, they don't have it. I've been using small dime---- I mean, small plastic bags all this time and it sucks. This is way better. https://sco...

Re: Zillion HLC... the neglected child
How wild is wild cause I have that spool in my TDZ reel Not sure which model but I use it with blitz max and I don’t have any issues on that “wildness” Lots of overrun with anything less than 1/2oz. Almost spins too fast. A couple options I’ll think about, see where I need another reel. Keep the 6....

Re: Zillion HLC... the neglected child
If I were either of you I’d would seek out a 100M spool From what I’m told it’s great in that particular reel. Outside of that I would find an IP79 spool of which I am a huge fan. I have an OG zillion custom painted (poor man’s zillion R ) upgraded gears to 7:91 high speed pinion worm gear hlc hand...

Zillion HLC... the neglected child
Love this reel but every year I find myself not using it as much. Currently it's used to throw spooks and poppers with 30lb braid, 3/8oz jigs and tubes on the river occasionally. I've thrown weightless senkos on it but the spool is pretty wild for that. Just feel like I'm not utilizing the HLC enoug...

Tennis elbow...
sucks. Started experiencing some pain last fall while casting, top of my elbow running down to my wrist. It gets worse with every cast. Had to stop fishing for a month. Any ideas on how to alleviate this pain and continue fishing? I have a wrist brace that helps but it’s bulky and awkward to fish wi...
