Re: Lower gear ratio for SS Air

Thanks again! going to let them know and see if they can get them ordered for me! Since I'm asking you so many questions do you have an opinion on the drag clicker mod? I like the drag clicker feature that comes stock on the Steez CT. It seems beneficial on a finesse reel with light line and low dr...

Re: A classic rod and a new reel

Lovely looking combo. Always liked the offset reel seat with a round reel. If Daiwa could do a 50 size I would be all over it. Maybe try the new Millionaire CT SV. Shoild just about disappear in your hand but still offer a very firm hold.

Re: —Daiwa Catalina TW 4.9:1–

Was talking with a buddy regarding the Catalina's line capacity. Decided to do the math but it doesn't add up in my opinion. Seem to not hold a lot of 20lb sniper. Tackle trap claims 140yds of 50lb braid. I used the info of basic PowerPro, 50lb has a diameter of 0.36mm. Pretty close to that of 20lb...

2015 Exist is a Real Four design so any of the RCS, for example, spools will fit. 2500 is the deepest I think.
Thank you didn’t want to order one from over seas to have it not fit
Plenty of compatibility charts available from the usual Japanese sites.

Re: Scorpion MGL

I guess I should add that many of the other reels I have owned are of the Scorpion quality ie plastic side plates such as the Tatula ct and many of the older Curados. It’s not my first rodeo so pump and wind and judicious thumb pressure are all part of my repertoire, as with all Barra fishermen low...

Re: Alphas air stream custom

found a Aldebaren BFS XG brand new in the box on locally for $290 AUD so will start with that (not a bad first BFS reel if you ask me) only concern is the 8:1 gear ratio. Can't find much info online about modding this (only a post about an older model that a guy modded), is it possible? For what I ...

Re: High end frog rod: heavy-ish surface veg

Just saw the STZ751MHHFB-AGS on the daiwa site pop-up, available in red only. Wondering how this rod feels. I haven't seen daiwa rate a rod power as MHH before either.... The earlier TopGun Steez had a MH-H designation. 7'2" and specified as a frog rod. Used one for barra for a while. Great rod and...

Have the regular Calcutta 50 and a Conquest 50. Both get regular use in brackish water with zero issues.

Re: Steez / Valkyrie

Quick question for the Valkyrie owners. Is the stated length, with the handle extended or contracted? Thanks.
