Re: Olympic Vigore

For the 610ML and 74M owners: with what reel have you paired it? Any suggestions, comments would be great. I have a those 2 Vigores in back order. Cannot wait to receive them and try them out. Hi Dutch, I own the 742M. I put a Certate 13 2510 in it. It ended up going on the 792M because of the rati...

Re: Olympic Vigore

Managed to snag one of the first batch of 610MLs, got it today. First impression - this is not a DS rod. Compared to my Expride 610ML, it seems to be about a power heavier through the tip and mid section. Probably perfect for 4" flukes, finesse swimbaits and jigs...maybe a finesse hard jerkbait rod...

Re: New Poison Adrena question

I don't know the 163L BFS but I have a 166L from the previous model and a couple of months I bought the newest 1610M. I really like the rod. It's crazy light, sensitive and build quality is spot on. I live in Europe and retail price here is only €299 and if you search you could find a better deal. B...

Re: Alphas SV 105 drag too tight?

Remove the handle and drag star. If the spool still won't spin freely, the reel might need service. I had a reel do that once. Apparently, it just needed to be cleaned and lubed. I think the a/r sleeve was somehow seized in the rollers and wouldn't slide out, because I initially had a hard time get...

Re: Alphas SV 105 drag too tight?

thanks for the info guys. I bought mine new 2 years ago and this drag tension issue just started this week. Before that it was like what you are describing, very loose. Reel has not been opened up or serviced so it is not like something has been wrongly installed. Taking it apart en reinstalling mig...

Alphas SV 105 drag too tight?

Hi guys, I just noticed that when I loosen the drag of my alphas completely, it still has significant drag tension. I measured it and on a rod you can almost lift 200 grams (7 ounce) from the ground. All my other baitcasters, for instance Tatula SV, are almost freespool when drag is completely loose...

Re: Translation of Shimano Japan lure symbols

short update: using the translation provided, I ended up buying the 1610M, so the medium powered, 6'10" baitcaster. Have fished it now like 10 times and I must say I am really impressed with it. Mainly used worms and soft swinbaits on jigheads and bottom contact sensitivity is great. same with drops...

Ah, I see that now. I was thrown by what to me looked like a barrel sinker up the line. Well, there you have it. Our intuition proved correct. Not a bad quality for an angler to have!
Haha yes, guess you're right.

Re: Translation of Shimano Japan lure symbols

Exactly, swimjig/soft swimbait should be mentioned, since it is a widely used technique, also by myself.
I'm not sure if I see a sinker, but these symbols are crazy small.
