High Speed Reels 8:1 Plus?
I've been using a baitcaster since I was 13 years old. I'm 42 right now. I have definitely seen the improvements on the casting reel throughout the years. I have a couple of 7:1 reels which I like. The trend seems to be going higher and higher. I couldn't picture myself using an 8:1 ratio plus. I co...

Re: Daiwa tatula sv / tatula costal sv spool?
I literally just received a Rays Studio Spool for a Tatula CT/100/elite today. To fit the 34 mm spool that would include the new blue coastal SV 150. It measures 33.84 mm so it conforms to the desired spec with little gap and mirrors the measurement of the stock spool it will replace. It does have ...

Re: Daiwa tatula sv / tatula costal sv spool?
Thanks for the comments everyone. I just recieved the costal yesterday! It looks and feels great. I am going to order an nrx 893c next month and I might try this costal first with the rod because the color should look good with the rod. Please keep me updated if you find a spool that would fit the c...

Daiwa tatula sv / tatula costal sv spool?
I just ordered the new tatula costal sv 150. I currently have a tatula sv. Could I swap spools between the reels or would they not fit?

Re: NXR 873 vs 893
Thanks everyone for the great help. I really wanted to try my alphas sv 105 but how much line will it hold with 15 pound fluorocarbon? Can I get a spool for the alphas 105 with more line capacity? If not, I think I'm going to use the ss sv 103. Thanks again for all the advice!

Re: NXR 873 vs 893
I figured someone was going to mention the new 7'5 steez rod! The rod does interest me. However, for a dedicated rod for up to a 3/8oz jig I feel the 893 would suite me better. I already have a good setup for 1/2 jigs.

Re: NXR 873 vs 893
Thanks for the input everyone. I thought most would say 893. Since the water is almost hard here I'm going to look for a deal on an 893. What reel out of these 4 would best balance the rod? Chronarch 50mg, Alphas sv 105, ss sv 103 or a tatula sv? Thanks

NXR 873 vs 893
I plan on using the rod for pitching plastics from 3/16 to 5/16 oz and jigs with a zoom super chuck trailer. Jigs will be strictly 3/8 oz. I will be using 15 pound fluorocarbon. Which rod would suite me better? 873 or 893?

Just Ordered an NRX 842S! What Reel?
I debating on what reel to get for this? I plan on using 8 to 10 pound test for 1/8 oz to 3/16 oz slider heads and for skipping docks with weightless trick worms. What reel do I get? On my list are: Revo SX 20 Fuego 2000 Stradic CI4 + 2500 If I have to spend the money for a CI4 I will but I want to ...
