Re: Daiwa GEKKABIJIN SW LIGHT JIGHEAD

I’m just happy to be able to test out what I do and report on it. Like everything I have ordered from Japan once you use their gear there is no going back. Believe me they’re days I’ve lost more jigs than I care to admit to.....and other days I lose none. I can’t bring myself to go back to other jig...

Re: Initial impression of FAX-632 SUL "New" Fine Tail.

Update on rod. Have not been out in the boat since getting the rod. But have made 3 trips to a local river and JPP bank fishing in the shade. Have caught a lot of small sunfish.....a few 9 inch shell cracker and several 9 inch smallmouth. The bite detection “sensitivity” is superb. Fun factor with t...

Initial impression of FAX-632 SUL "New" Fine Tail.

I just received a “New” Major Craft Fine Tail FAX 63 SUL Area Trout Rod. I stepped out of my comfort zone as I had said I most likely would never purchase any more JDM rods that were not high end. I really wanted to check this rod out for several reasons. Not a lot of folks will spend 300 dollars on...

Re: Daiwa Gekkabijin

Any experience with these rods out of the JDM? Quality for the price? Which one for crappie? Thx I’ve owned a couple back about 5 years ago. Build quality was very good but I found both the Ajing and Mebaru rods too stiff for my liking for crappie. The rods were super sensitive but not much fun fac...

Re: Question about my latest Ultra Light rod

Did you ever try out this rod? If so how do you like it. The ‘New” Fine Tail Series has me interested. If a rod with glass in it weighs 1.8 ounces the graphite only models have to be lighter. I contacted Digitaka about the weight of the 6’ 3” SUL but they never got back with me.

Re: Super Ultralight JDM Length

Agree. Good posts all. The lighter the lure, the less rod length makes a difference as guide drag, air friction etc all now accounts for a greater percentage of casting distance losses. I recently tried a 5' 6" that blew my mind as it cast within a foot of a 6' 10" rod that has really good casting ...

Re: Super Ultralight JDM Length

All my fishing is done from a boat and was wondering the best length rod to find. I have always thought the longer the rod, the further you could cast the bait. However I may not be correct in this assumption. I am looking to purchase a ultratralight JDM rod or even a super ultratralight. I don't f...

Re: What’s In Your Rod Rack?

Funny....the first part of your list....I've owned each of them except for the Quantum XtraLite....LOL. I must have had 4 Fenwick RR rods at one time. Went with a couple of Phenix Elixirs along the way. Really lost count of JDM rods I have bought. I must have given 6 or more of the low end rods away...

Re: Tailwalk Silverna Taki T

Randy, I don't own any UL Tailwalk rods, but I do own the Tailwalk outback series spinning rod 695 M. Fit and finish are on par with Major Craft & Anglers Republic (Palms) The solid reel seats gives extreme sensitivity & is very similar to the reel seat on the Daiwa Gekkabijin Mebaru rod. Action is...

Info needed on Tailwalk rods.

Does anyone have any experience with Tailwalk rods? I am looking at their Taki TZ series for trout. I have inquired on the UL forum but not much response. Just curious as to what kind of build...fit and finish their rods have. Anyone know where they are manufactured? thanks in advance.

Tailwalk Silverna Taki TZ???

Trying to make up my mind between the Graphiteleader Super Bellezza or the Silverna Taki TZ. I know.....many will say get the Super Bellezza....and I do want one.....but the Taki TZ looks very interesting. It is 8 grams lighter than the Silverna. Anyone have any experience with this rod....or any Ta...

Re: Ester mono.

Thanks for the informative thread on this line, definitely want to try it out. I used straight 4lb mono for years and recently switched to 5lb powerpro+4lb fluoro which is generally a much better feel for me. I either fish deep for redear, shallow for redear or shallow/medium depth for bluegill. So...
